As members of ATIA we're calling on the Australian Government to change the travel advisory for Middle Eastern airports from Level 4 "Do not travel" to Level 3 "Reconsider your need to travel".

At the current Level 4, Australians have significantly less rights with their travel insurance whilst transiting through airports in the Middle East. Downgrading the advisory level makes sense given an airside transit of a couple of hours carries a fundamentally different risk to a holiday in-country. It's time for Australia to follow countries including the UK, Germany and France by aligning to our advisory to Level 3, allowing Australians to transit through the Middle Eastern airports to Europe, India and Africa with confidence.

Heidi, on behalf of Escorted Gap Year and Angas Travel, was delighted to attend the 22nd Annual Sydney Schools Careers Convention, proudly hosted by Sydney Grammar School.

With more than 1,200 senior students and parents in attendance, the event brought together students from a wonderful range of participating schools, including Sydney Grammar School, Kambala, Scots College, St Andrew's Cathedral School, SCEGGS Darlinghurst, Newington College, Kincoppal-Rose Bay School, International Grammar School, Ascham School, Westbourne College and Wenona School.

It was a pleasure speaking with so many enthusiastic students exploring their future pathways and learning about the opportunity to take a paid Gap Year in the UK and Ireland through our Escorted Gap Year Program.

A sincere thank you to the organisers and host school for another outstanding event. We always enjoy connecting with students and families as they plan their next adventure after Year 12.

What a fabulous week in Sydney for Heidi, attending Careers Nights at St Ignatius' College Riverview and Barker College, as well as having the opportunity to present to Year 11 students at Shore School and Ascham School about taking a gap year after Year 12.

Thank you to all of the Careers and Future Pathways teachers for hosting Heidi and for the warm welcome at each school. It was fantastic to connect with so many students considering their next adventure beyond school.
