Ahoy there!

We're thrilled to introduce you to our new fleet of Paddle Boats!

They've just arrived all the way from Italy and to celebrate we're going to be donating all profits from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to the Hutt St Centre to support South Australians experiencing homelessness.

All rides are $20 for 20 minutes over this period. A romantic ride for two for Valentine's day maybe?

Ahoy!

Elder Park is going to be shut in preparations for tomorrow night's NYE celebrations all day, so The Popeye isn't going to have access to its usual Elder Park Landing. On New Years Eve all Popeye cruises will be departing from the other side of the King William Bridge in Section 1018 Victoria Dr., right next to Lounder's Boatshed.

Popeye’s Story

There’s really only a few ways to see Adelaide from the River Torrens and we have two of them. On board the Popeye and paddling along in one of our paddle boats. Our boats have been enjoyed for generations as the Popeye first started in 1935. The “Popeye” boats are privately owned recreational ferries that operate on the lake between Elder Park and the Adelaide Zoo. The first boat was launched on the Torrens Lake by Gordon Watts in 1935. It was a 25-foot (7.6 m) boat, built on the banks of the River Torrens to hold up to 20 passengers and named Popeye 1. Come and enjoy time with your family and friends in a paddle boat or on the Popeye along the Torrens River in Adelaide on any of our public tours, perhaps rekindle your childhood memories and we’d love for you to make new ones. Watch the wildlife, bring your picnic on board, see joggers and bicyclists flit by and relax for a while. How perfect does that sound?

Check out the events section of our page or check out our web site to see what we here at the Popeye are up to, then purchase tickets to join us on one of our upcoming special events. Paddle Boats $20 per boat (inc 2 people) for 20 mins Popeye I, II or III - round trip from Elder Park or the Zoo (Starting at 10am each day) Adults $15 Seniors $13 Children $8 Toddlers (under 3 years of age) free

Want to have these SA icons just to yourself? The Popeye Fleet and Paddle boats are available for hire/charter. Contact us at [email protected] to find out more.
