🔥 Almost gave up turning my home into an Airbnb… furniture assembly nearly broke me — thank goodness for the dream team!

So, I finally decided to list my own place as a short-term rental.
And guess what? Step one almost had me crying: assembling the furniture — absolutely not!

Thinking of Doing Airbnb in Aus? Here’s What We’ve Learned
We kicked things off just helping out a few mates with their empty properties — thought we’d give it a crack, see if it could bring in a bit of extra cash.
Next thing we know… we’re deep in the short-term rental game.
What started as a “why not” turned into something way bigger (and way busier!).
So, how full-on is running an Airbnb?
Let’s just say — before you even go live, there’s a lot to sort:
Finding the right spot, working out the numbers, doing up the place, taking good photos, setting it up on different platforms, buying supplies, setting house rules…
And that’s all before your first guest walks through the door.
Once you’re up and running?
You’re not just a landlord — you’re the cleaner, handyman, guest support, and sometimes even a part-time therapist.
Throw in a big event like footy finals or a music fest and you’ll be flat out just turning the place over in time.
But here’s the thing — it’s actually pretty sweet if you get it right:
