Rain, flooding, strong winds and high tides are doing their best to create a new river mouth at Southport. šŸŒ§ļøšŸŒŠ

Itā€™s amazing to see how quickly the river can change when nature turns up the volume.

Weā€™re lucky enough to spend time on this stretch of river with Gone AWOL, so fingers crossed nature does its thing, builds the sand back up and puts a stop to the erosion. šŸ¤ž

A beautiful part of the coast thatā€™s certainly keeping us guessing.

Making the most of this last blast of cool weather with a 2016 Hither & Yon Sand Road Shiraz. šŸ·

Hither & Yon were right at the forefront of the more elegant, lighter style of McLaren Vale Shiraz; fresh, vibrant and not reliant on being big and heavy.

These w**es can certainly be enjoyed young, but almost 10 years on, this one is still holding its fruit beautifully, with a little extra complexity from time in the bottle.

And with a rib eye on the BBQ waitingā€¦ seems only right. šŸ„©šŸ·

Join Gone AWOL W**e Coast Tours this spring for one of my absolute favourite tours ā€” the Gone AWOL E-Bike & W**e Tour! šŸš²šŸ·

Spend the morning cruising through McLaren Vale by e-bike, taking in the vines, scenery and fresh spring air. Then jump back in the van and spend the afternoon doing what we do bestā€¦ going from w**ery to w**ery! šŸ‡šŸ·

A little bit of exercise, plenty of w**e and a bloody good day out.

Whilst Iā€™m kinda over the rain, thereā€™s no denying how good itā€™s been for the land! šŸŒ§ļøšŸŒ±

After a couple of really dry years, the rain is very much welcome across McLaren Vale and the wider South Australian farming community. Happy vines, healthier pastures and a much needed drink for the soil.

Sometimes youā€™ve just got to embrace the wet! šŸ‡
