Happy International Fiano Day! 🍷🐟

Several of the w**emakers I interviewed mentioned sashimi as a great pairing for Fiano. So, when a good mate of mine (shout-out to Dave Boyle) dropped around earlier this week with some freshly caught kingfish, I knew exactly what to do.

Without a word of a lie, one of the best w**e pairings I’ve ever had.

The freshness and delicate flavour of the kingfish sashimi alongside the BY FABIANO 2025 McLaren Fiano was an absolute ripper of a match.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best.

Why has Fiano become the white w**e of McLaren Vale? 🍇🥂

I’ve put this question to some of our local w**emakers to get their perspectives on this special Italian grape variety.

From its ability to thrive in our Mediterranean climate to its beautiful balance of freshness, fruit and texture, Fiano seems to have found its second home right here in McLaren Vale. And with our w**emakers continuing to experiment with different styles, there’s plenty to get excited about.

But what is it that makes Fiano so special to our region?

🍇 Celebrating Fiano in McLaren Vale!

In preparation for International Fiano Day on October 16, I’ve been chatting with w**emakers from Beresford Estate , Olivers Taranga , BY FABIANO , Varney Wines and Zerella Wines to hear their perspectives on this special grape and explore its significance to McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Over the coming week, I’ll be sharing five videos featuring these local w**emakers, each offering their own insights into Fiano and what makes it such an exciting variety for our region.

This is my kind of Fiano — a little fuller-bodied, with plenty of depth.

Somos Wines - McLaren Vale 2026 Fiano & Amigos has clearly been a bit of a bully this year… it’s lost its amigos.

But as far as I’m concerned, it’s better off as a renegade.

Now to see how it pairs with a burrito.
