Earlier this week we attended our first Emirates product update since their direct flights to Dubai resumed last year.

As of last week the A350 aircraft commenced Premium Economy services out of Adelaide!!

Also we were able to get a wonderful update on new destinational experiences in Dubai.

From lux desert experiences, new interactive art and sports museums, aqua and aerial shows, gastronomy and new nature based adventures in nearby Hatta….in addition to the usual attractions and sites such a Burj Al Arab, Burj Kalifa, Mall of the Emirates and Atlantis (and Aquaventure being my favourite!)

Did you know the average stopover in Dubai is now 5 days?!?!

(You’ll need it!!)

It’s been 13 years since we last visited, might be time to plan a return!!

January- February is a great time to go to avoid the desert heat…..

So you get a WhatsApp message from your hotel asking to confirm check in details.

You’ve booked an awesome deal on an online platform (not the hotels website or via an agent) a few days earlier but they are asking for your credit card again!!

What do you do?!?!

While it doesn’t feel right - it seems odd when all your details look correct.

More and more people are getting asked to pay for bookings they have already made.

Sites are not always secure and your personal details may be leaked to third parties or scammers.

We have seen seasoned travellers be asked to pay twice for bookings on sites like booking.com and Agoda, as recently as this month. Not just on credit cards but bank transfers too.

Be aware, be alert, if in doubt - phone the platform you are using or better yet, book your future travel with a travel agent 😉

SCAM ALERT

So you’ve just booked a holiday, you are after the best deal and an online booking site they have the hotel room you want just a few dollars cheaper than the hotels website.

🔥 winning!!

You’ve just saved a bit of 💰 and it’s a flexible booking.

A few days later you get a WhatsApp message from the hotel wanting to do a pre-checkin. The dates look right, your name is correct - they just want to know what time you will arrive - you go to click the link…….
