There are great dancers and great singers and great actors. Sometimes there are the triple threats that are awe inspiring. But all of them, regardless of natural talent, had to be taught the basics sometime. STAGECRAFT 101 is individually designed private coaching for those who have previously not had any formalised stage training or who are in the process of character or performance development f
or a specific role. Amongst the skill topics available are:
Spatial Recognition
Verbal Phrasing (Song and spoken word)
Character Development
Projecting for the stage
Stage Presence
Improvisational techniques
and
Audience Connection
These and other topics will be packaged to develop what you want to grow about your performance and get you to the stage. These courses suit:
Those with no formal stage/acting training
Dancers wanting to increase their stage presence and characters
Student or amateur performers wanting to develop and research their current role
Burlesque or professional dance performers wishing to develop characters and audience interaction. These coaching sessions are designed to complement already existing training in performance and do not offer specific choreography, voice or direction changes, so they are catered to you and won't interfere with the skills you have already learned. Costs are $35.00 for a half hour session. Session times are evenings and weekends and locations are flexible. About the Coach:
Lady Cara is 30 year veteran of the stage. Amongst her more challenging roles were Toothbrush 1 in the 1983 South Australian Ballet Troupe Finals, Kassandra in the South Australian Premiere of Jon English's Paris, Nancy in the 2008 production of Oliver and more recently as MC to the stunning Peaches n Gin Burlesque. She has been coaching in ballet though the Gwen Mackay School of Dance, acting at Flinders University, and is part of the intensive music alumni of Brighton Secondary School. She currently studies voice under the direction of the gifted soprano: Karen Lettice,
Lady Cara has been performing since the age of 4, could talk under wet cement (according to numerous directors) has stage, short film feature film and advertisement experience....... and shows no sign of stopping.
