Disney Cruise Line to Offer Magical Sailings in Australia and New Zealand for the First Time!

For the first time, Disney Cruise Line is coming to the shores of Australia and New Zealand to offer magical vacations created especially for local residents during a limited season from late 2023.

The ‘Disney Magic at Sea’ sailings will bring all of the magic of Disney to one amazing holiday experience with favourite characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars on board, plus imaginative dining and spectacular entertainment – all in one cruise.

The special sailings aboard the Disney Wonder range from two to six nights and will depart from four home ports: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand.

“We are so excited to bring the magic of a Disney cruise vacation close to home for guests in Australia and New Zealand,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “On these limited-time sailings, the ship is the destination, and our amazing Disney Cruise Line crew can’t wait to welcome guests on board as they are immersed in their favourite stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.”

While on board, Disney Cruise Line guests will be immersed in the magic of Disney with unforgettable character encounters with favourite Disney friends including Captain Mickey Mouse, Captain Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto, and spectacular entertainment including original Broadway-quality shows.

Guests will also enjoy incredible dining experiences with imaginative restaurants including Tiana’s Place, where guests can meet Princess Tiana herself and enjoy a taste of New Orleans cooking, and Animator’s Palate, an interactive dining experience that celebrates Disney animation.

Children will have their own “Frozen” adventures in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, along with a multi-level replica of Andy’s Room from “Toy Story” and a place to summon their inner super hero at the Marvel Super Hero Academy. Adults even have their own exclusive spaces to rest and relax, including the adults-only Quiet Cove pool, sophisticated dining at Palo and the rejuvenating Senses Spa & Salon.

All sailings will include health and safety measures considering up-to-date guidance from public health authorities in Australia and New Zealand and medical experts. Disney Cruise Line’s current health and safety protocols are outlined on disneycruise.com.

The inaugural sailing of this limited season departs October 28, 2023 from Sydney. Bookings open to the general public from Thursday September 29, 2022 at 8am AEST / 11am NZDT.

COVID-19 has changed the way we travel. It's critical not to undervalue the difficulty of travel during a pandemic. It's a lot more intricate and unexpected.

Below are Travel Smart advice for all travellers:

▪️ Smartraveller.gov.au has the most up-to-date travel advice, which you can read and subscribe to, as well as follow Smartraveller on social media. Local regulations can change at any time, and sometimes without warning. Make sure you're well-informed and ready to travel in an ever-changing climate.

▪️ Purchase all-inclusive travel insurance. Make sure it includes the places you'll go, the activities you'll participate in, and any pre-existing medical conditions you may have.

▪️ Before you depart, double-check your passport's expiration date. Some nations will not allow you in unless your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the date you intend to leave.

▪️ Inquire about immunisations and any health precautions that are suggested. Vaccinations may be required for entry into some countries. Check your medications; some medications are prohibited in particular countries.

▪️ Check that you have the correct visas for the countries you'll be visiting or transiting through, as well as any other entrance or exit restrictions.

▪️ Check to see if you're considered a national of the country you're visiting, and if having dual nationality would affect your travel plans.

▪️ Copies of your passport, visas, and insurance policy should be made. Carry them apart from the originals and leave a copy with a family member.

▪️ Overseas, the risks are frequently higher. Take precautions and don't take any dangers that you wouldn't take at home.

▪️ Obey the laws of the country you're visiting, even if they seem severe or unfair in comparison to Australian law. Just because you're Australian, don't expect to be treated any differently than the locals.

▪️ Maintain communication with relatives and friends back home. Before you go, give them a printout of your itinerary so they know where you'll be. If you won't be reachable for a long length of time, let them know.

Are you travelling/returning to South Australia?

🔹 EntryCheck SA🔹
A new website called EntryCheck SA website (entrycheck.sa.gov.au) went live at 6pm on Friday.

If you want to come to South Australia, you will need to create a mySA GOV account — the same type of account used by South Australians for things such as paying car registration.

From there, the website asks for personal information such as your name and date of birth, as well as your Medicare number.

It will also ask where you have spent the majority of your time over the past 14 days or if you have been overseas recently.

🔹 HealthCheck SA🔹
Once you download the HealthCheck SA app — if you need to — it will step you through checking for COVID-19 symptoms, when to get tested or of necessary, how long you will need to quarantine, either at a medi-hotel or at home.

The app will replace another app used during a home quarantine trial earlier this year.

That app contacted participants randomly, giving them 15 minutes to prove they are home, using a combination of facial recognition and geo-location technology.

It will also tell users the result of their tests.

NEWS: Travel for vaccinated Australians and permanent residents 📰

From 1 November, fully vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents will be able to travel overseas without needing an outwards travel exemption.

It will also be easier for fully vaccinated Australians, permanent residents and their immediate families to return to Australia, depending on the state or territory they are travelling to.
