Would you walk across a glass bridge suspended above a two-metre-wide gorge? 🧡

Hidden in Queensland’s Gulf Savannah, Cobbold Gorge is a ribbon of permanent water enclosed by towering sandstone walls.

Its geological story began around 1.7 billion years ago, when sand and mud accumulated on an ancient seabed. Earth movements later fractured the sandstone, allowing powerful wet-season water to carve the narrow chasm. Some of its lower sections may have developed only about 10,000 years ago—making it Queensland’s youngest known gorge within a much older landscape.

The signature three-hour guided experience combines an escarpment walk, Australia’s first fully glass bridge and a peaceful electric-boat cruise through passages narrowing to just two metres.

Mungo National Park در جنوب‌غربی نیوساوت‌ولز، یکی از متفاوت‌ترین مناظر استرالیاست. سازندهای فرسایشی Walls of China در حاشیه دریاچه‌ای شکل گرفته‌اند که حدود ۱۸٬۵۰۰ سال پیش خشک شد؛ اما لایه‌های خاک آن هنوز داستان تغییرات اقلیمی، جانوران باستانی و ده‌ها هزار سال حضور انسان را حفظ کرده‌اند.

منطقه Willandra Lakes از سال ۱۹۸۱ در فهرست میراث جهانی یونسکو قرار دارد و از نظر طبیعی و فرهنگی اهمیت فوق‌العاده‌ای دارد. این سرزمین با همکاری صاحبان سنتی منطقه و NSW National Parks مدیریت می‌شود؛ بنابراین باید فقط در مسیرهای تعیین‌شده حرکت کرد و به مکان‌های فرهنگی احترام گذاشت.

🌕 آیا تابه‌حال «پلکان ماه» را دیده‌اید؟

در شهر ساحلی BROOME در شمال‌غربی استرالیای غربی، پدیده‌ای تماشایی در خلیج Roebuck Bay رخ می‌دهد که به آن Staircase to the Moon می‌گویند.

وقتی طلوع ماه کامل با جزر بسیار پایین هم‌زمان می‌شود، پهنه‌های گِلی و موج‌دار خلیج نمایان می‌شوند. بازتاب نور ماه روی این سطح، ردیفی از نورهای طلایی ایجاد می‌کند که از دور شبیه پلکانی درخشان به‌سوی ماه به نظر می‌رسد.

این پدیده معمولاً از ماه مارس تا اکتبر و تنها در ۲ تا ۳ شبِ مشخص از هر ماه دیده می‌شود. زمان دقیق آن هر سال براساس چرخه ماه و وضعیت جزرومد تغییر می‌کند.

هزاران گردشگر از نقاط مختلف جهان هر سال برای تماشای این منظره شگفت‌انگیز به BROOME و خلیج Roebuck Bay سفر می‌کنند.
