TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR MONDAY 23 JUNE & TUESDAY 24 JUNE

Unfortunately, conditions are continuing to deteriorate and the following sailings will not operate today:

- 9.00am, 10.00am, 12.00pm and 1.00pm departing Cape Jervis
- 10.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm departing Penneshaw

The current forecast indicates a high potential for significant disruptions throughout today and tomorrow, Tuesday 24 June.

Forecast and conditions will be monitored with a further update at approximately 12.30pm.

Unfortunately, due to strong winds and heavy swell the following sailings will not operate today:

- 5.30am, 8.30am and 10.30am departing Penneshaw

- 7.00am, 9.00am and 10.00am departing Cape Jervis

As necessary each year, we schedule time during the quieter months to perform essential annual maintenance to each of our vessels. This includes critical maintenance and the annual AMSA survey which covers checks on machinery and safety equipment on the vessels.

This year, the maintenance works will be carried out on selected weekends to minimise the disruption to services and project works underway to transition to the new ferry service. The maintenance schedule has been approved by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and will allow contractors to continue to progress the works at Cape Jervis.

During this time, the maintenance days are:

June:

- Saturday 21 June and Sunday 22 June, SeaLion will be removed from service.

- Saturday 28 June and Sunday 29 June, the Spirit of Kangaroo Island will be removed from service.

July:

- Saturday 26 July and Sunday 27 July, SeaLion will be removed from service.

August:

- Saturday 2 August and Sunday 3 August, the Spirit of Kangaroo Island will be removed from service.

- Saturday 9 August and Sunday 10 August, SeaLion will be removed from service.

- Saturday 16 August and Sunday 17 August, the Spirit of Kangaroo Island will be removed from service.

- Saturday 23 August and Sunday 24 August, SeaLion will be removed from service.

- Saturday 30 August and Sunday 31 August, the Spirit of Kangaroo Island will be removed from service.

All affected customers will be contacted in date order and moved to alternative sailings.

Unfortunately, the current forecast indicating strong winds and high seas has not changed. As a result, the following sailings will not be operating:

- Departing from Cape Jervis at 12.00pm
- Departing from Penneshaw at 1.30pm

Conditions will be monitored with a further update on the following sailings issued at approximately 12.30pm:

- Departing from Penneshaw at 2.30pm and 4.30pm
- Departing from Cape Jervis at 3.00pm and 4.00pm

As a result, all remaining sailings today, Friday 6 June, will not be operating.

Forecasts and conditions for tomorrow, 7 June Saturday will be monitored through the day with a further update at approximately 3.30 pm.

- Departing Penneshaw at 7.30 am
- Departing Penneshaw at 8.30 am
- Departing Cape Jervis at 9.00 am
- Departing Cape Jervis at 10.00 am
- Departing Penneshaw at 10.30 am

Forecasts will be monitored and currently indicate worsening conditions for today afternoon and evening.

The next update will be issued at approximately 9.30 am regarding the following sailings:

- Departing Penneshaw at 11.30 am
- Departing Cape Jervis at 12.00 pm

The construction of our two new state-of-the-art ferries, Wanggami and Ruwi, and our shore-based infrastructure upgrades continue to progress well and are set to commence service in 2025.

We are working in close partnership with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport to ensure the infrastructure upgrades are complete in time for the introduction of the new Kangaroo Island Ferry Service.

All critical infrastructure works will be completed by mid-2025, followed by the vehicle ramp installation and the transition period to the new vessels.

The planned service shutdown in May 2025 has been postponed to allow appropriate time for communication and completion of all the works.

We will provide an update by mid-2025 with a revised date for the anticipated three-day shutdown.
