Luke Jones Architects have been working on masterplanning and design at the Shirley Heights Equestrian Centre in the Yarra Valley region of Victoria. This building has event office and administration functions with views over the venue, as well as the best toilets and showers that you’ll find at an equestrian centre!

Well done again to the Adelaide Equestrian Festival for running another brilliant event. The weather was perfect, Adelaide is a great city and it’s the best equestrian competition in Australia! My little thoroughbred Spirit tried his heart out again for me, as he always does. Thanks to for the fantastic photo over the wagon.

We’re loving working on this new house on the Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide. The property has beautiful native bushland, seclusion and spectacular views over Encounter Bay - the house will make the most of the natural features.

Luke Jones Architects designed this stables building for a beautiful property at Closeburn, just north of Brisbane. Dressage horses have been accommodated in a carefully considered stables building, while the property layout includes a range of paddocks with shelters and an outdoor arena. The stables have been designed for the humid Queensland climate, with an open verandah facing the arena and a ventilated back wall above the stables. The building turns its back on the prevailing weather, creating a sheltered yard facing the arena. The stables panels by are a feature!. Photos by

The new home for the South Australia Mounted Police at Gepps Cross, in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, is complete. The move was made from stables that the mounted police had occupied for over 100 years, and historical fabric from old building have been included in the new. Visible in this photo is one of the original stalls dividers, as well as a police horse honour board. In association with Photo:

Natural daylight and ventilation are features in the breezeway and cross ties in the stables building. The cross ties incorporate storage lockers for officers and shelves for grooming gear. A quick site visit to see the progress on the Brookdale farmhouse at Campell Town in Tasmania. The property is beautiful and the site for the house is spectacular.

It was really rewarding to be able to incorporate so many historic elements from the 1914 Thebarton barracks into the new stables for the South Australian Mounted Police.
