Sharing ideas with our VIC friends!
Jules recently spent the day at the The Big Mango Visitor Information Centre in Bowen, catching up with Cindy, Glenn and their wonderful team of volunteers.
It was a great opportunity to see how another Visitor Information Centre operates, share ideas, talk through what works well and learn from each other’s experiences. There is always something valuable to take away when tourism teams come together and exchange knowledge.
A big thank you to Cindy, Glenn and all the volunteers for making Jules feel so welcome and for generously sharing their time and ideas. Jules came back with plenty of inspiration for our own VIC here at Magnums!

Calling on the amazing Whitsunday community for a little help 💛🌴

As the official Visitor Information Centre in Airlie Beach, we are currently creating a range of helpful local databases and information guides to better assist travellers while they are holidaying here in the beautiful Whitsundays.

We would love recommendations and contacts for things such as:

• Pet sitters
• Babysitters
• Rainy day activities
• Accessibility-friendly services
• Emergency contacts & after-hours services

…and anything else you think visitors may need while away from home.

Our goal is simple — to make visitors feel supported, informed, safe, and genuinely welcomed while they are in our region.

Last week, our VIC Coordinator Mumma Jules — also known as Granny Jules — took a well-earned day off with her family and headed up to Bowen for the day ☀️🥭

Of course, true VIC spirit never really switches off… so while she was there, she stopped in at the Visitor Information Centre at the Big Mango to say hello to the lovely Bowen Tourism & Business local team, check out their setup, swap ideas, and continue building connections within our tourism community.

One thing we love about the tourism industry is how everyone supports each other and shares ideas to help make the visitor experience even better across the whole region 💛

For over 30 years, we’ve loved helping travellers discover the very best of the Whitsundays… and now we get to do that on an even bigger scale. From local tips and personalised recommendations to tour bookings, maps, transfers, and unforgettable experiences — visitors can now walk into Magnums and get trusted local advice all in one place.

Whether you’re chasing Whitehaven Beach, reef adventures, hidden local gems, or just wondering where to grab the best sunset drink 🍹 — our local team is here to help.

We’re also excited to work even more closely with local tourism operators across the region to help showcase everything that makes the Whitsundays so special.
