The freedom we have to share our home, to build memories, to welcome travellers and explore the sea, was not given—it was earned, with unimaginable sacrifice.

To the brave men and women who served, who gave their lives, we honour you. Because of you, we get to live and work in peace, in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Your courage echoes in the waves, in the wind, and in the hearts of every one of us who calls this country home.

Whitehaven Beach is a stunning, world-renowned beach located on Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays, off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
It's famous for its pure white silica sand, which is incredibly soft and fine, and its crystal-clear turquoise waters.
The beach stretches for about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) along the island’s eastern shore.

What makes Whitehaven truly unique is the Hill Inlet, a swirling blend of sand and sea at the northern end of the beach, best viewed from the nearby Tongue Point lookout—one of the most photographed spots in Australia.

Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout. climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed poor Incy out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
And the Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again🌞☔️🕷️🕸️

Whilst this is a children’s poem, it is very relative to some spiders we might encounter on the Islands. This time of year - our rain season months allows the Golden Ord Spider to come out and put its beauty on display.

They are famous for their large, circular webs, which can be quite striking due to their golden color. This coloration is due to the unique silk they produce, which has a distinctive sheen, and the color can vary depending on the species and environmental factors. As well as this, most Golden Ord spiders have a yellow or orange band on their legs as a way of identifying them.

These creatures look incredible and maybe a little scaryyy, they are actually non venomous to us humans!!

Corals are fascinating marine organisms that play a crucial role in the health of the ocean ecosystem.
A couple of interest facts about coral are:

Coral Is a Living Animal:
Despite their appearance, corals are not plants or rocks; they are animals. They are made up of tiny polyps, which are soft-bodied creatures related to jellyfish and sea anemones.

Coral Reefs Are Biodiversity Hotspots:
Coral reefs support around 25% of all marine species, despite covering less than 1% of the ocean floor. They provide food, shelter, and breeding grounds for a diverse range of fish, invertebrates, and other marine creatures.

Today, we’re celebrating 14 incredible years of adventure, passion, and unforgettable moments in The Whitsundays! 🌊🏝️ and what an amazing journey it's been! 🥳

It all started with our iconic "and mighty" Tongarra Sailing Vessel, and from there, Red Cat Adventures has grown and evolved into one of Australia’s most loved adventure tour operators! 🏆

From sailing the turquoise waters of the Whitsundays Islands and offering adventures that last a lifetime, we’ve made countless memories with our amazing guests and we look forward to "being awesome for another 14 years" at least! 😻
