🍫Had the sweetest time at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery. We got to create our very own lollipop from scratch for just $10. We definitely took “unlimited toppings” to the next level 🤣

If you think the Great Ocean Road is only worth visiting in the summer, think again! While winter may be a little colder and wetter, it's the perfect time to experience a different side of this iconic Australian roadway. With fewer crowds and dramatic stormy skies, you'll have ample opportunity to take in the stunning coastal views from places like London Arch and Loch Ard Gorge, without having to fight your way through throngs of tourists. Plus, winter is mating season for southern right whales, so if you're lucky, you might even spot these majestic creatures breaching just off shore. Just remember to pack warm clothing and a rain jacket–or two!

Beautiful day for a trip to Live Wire Park, located just 7km from Lorne and home to multiple treetop adventures and zipline.⁣

PROS⁣
- Activities for all ages. Check online for height requirements.⁣
- Nice to be in the great outdoors⁣
- Free parking (although the car park was so full we had to park along the GOR!)⁣
⁣
CONS⁣
- Quite expensive for a family⁣
- No control on numbers so queues were long and sections were closed here and there throughout the day⁣

There's no cafe for food and drinks so BYO. ⁣
⁣
We had a fun day but probably wouldn't go back due to the cost. I think you get much better value at Enchanted Garden as there's tube rides, mazes, places to picnic, etc.

Wishing I’d bought shares in Ghanda Clothing! Every second child that walks past has a tie-dye top or jumper. You can find retail stores and outlets in both Torquay and Lorne. This child doesn’t do sale items

Quick trip to the Anglesea Transfer Station and we have all the wood we need to make a bird house 🐤🏡 🤣

Fun fact! The tip has a resale section filled with secondhand bits and pieces (and lots of junk!). OPEN 10am-2pm on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

Finally booked in for a Junior Chocolatier class at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie.

$40 per child for 45 minute class. Includes chefs hat, apron, certificate, giant lollipop face, turtle creation and some mini chocolates (picture only shows a few butterflies as we ate some!)

Hunting for sticks for the fire (and for battle!) is one of our favourite things to do when the weather gets chilly.

You’ll find a bush track at the end of our street with plenty of twigs. The path also leads to the golf course where you can see kangaroos, book in for a meal or play mini golf.

Spent an overcast day last week at the outlet stores in Torquay.

You’ll find Rip Curl, Billabong, Ghanda and more in Baines Court, located just off the main Surf Coast Highway.

Lots on offer but didn’t really feel that a lot of the items had “outlet” prices. Did manage to grab a few cheap Ghanda jumpers for our nine year old. 🙌

The Aireys Fair is on tomorrow from 9am - 3pm. Such a great day for the whole family! The markets are also on so it's definitely worth the drive if you're holidaying nearby.

Set at Aireys Inlet Primary School, the fair is an annual event held on Saturday 4 Nov 2023.
