🌍✈️ Some good news for travellers this Wednesday morning!

DFAT has downgraded its travel advice for the UAE and Qatar from Level 4 – Do Not Travel to Level 3 – Reconsider your need to travel.

This is a significant step forward for travellers, as many travel insurance policies that would not provide cover under a "Do Not Travel" advisory may now be available again, subject to individual policy terms and conditions.

For those travelling through Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha, this is a welcome move and a positive sign of increasing stability and confidence in international travel.

As always, we recommend checking your travel insurance policy carefully and speaking with your travel advisor before you depart.

If you're visiting Victoria Falls, The Lookout Café is an absolute must!

We enjoyed both breakfast and lunch here, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had. The food was excellent, the service was warm and welcoming, and the setting is simply breathtaking.

Perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, the café offers stunning panoramic views that are unlike anything we've experienced before. Watching the spectacular scenery while enjoying a delicious meal made every moment special.

Of all the restaurants we've visited around the world, The Lookout Café has to be at the top of our list for both atmosphere and views. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a drink while taking in the scenery, this place is truly unforgettable.

Highly recommended – a five-star experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Victoria Falls!

Botswana is a paradise for bird lovers.

From the wetlands of the Okavango Delta to the dry savannahs, every landscape is alive with colour and sound. You can spot everything from vibrant kingfishers and bee-eaters to fish eagles calling over the water, and flocks of herons and storks moving through the floodplains.

What makes it even more special is the variety — one moment you’re watching tiny, brilliantly coloured birds flitting through reeds, and the next you’re seeing large raptors soaring overhead.

And then there are the unforgettable encounters… like morning tea shared with vultures in a tree nearby — a wild, humbling reminder of how close you are to nature out here.

In Botswana, birdlife isn’t just something you look for — it’s something that surrounds you everywhere you go.

Ever wondered what an African mobile camping safari is really like?

The day starts early — waking to cool air and warm water to freshen up before sunrise.

Breakfast is cooked, then it’s straight out on a morning game drive as the bush comes alive.

Midday means a break back at camp — a quick outdoor shower, a relaxed lunch, and a chance to rest.

On moving camp days, lunch is packed and enjoyed on the road between destinations.

Afternoons are back on the tracks, tracking wildlife and soaking up the landscapes, before returning to camp as the light fades.

Evenings are all about the fire — snacks, stories, and sharing photos of the day’s sightings.

Dinner is hearty and freshly prepared outdoors, often in a wood-fired oven, and no one goes hungry.

Victoria Falls — “the Smoke that Thunders” — is absolutely incredible.

From the ground, especially on both the Zimbabwe and Zambia sides, you’re hit with roaring water and a constant mist that will soak you completely. It’s powerful, loud, and unforgettable.

From the air, it’s a different kind of magic — you finally see the full scale of Victoria Falls, carved dramatically across the landscape.

Visited from both Zimbabwe and Zambia — each side gives a unique and stunning view.

You were incredible, Botswana! 🇧🇼🦁🐘

Our 8-night mobile camping safari was nothing short of extraordinary.
From elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, leopards, lions, cheetahs, wildebeest, warthogs, wild dogs, kudus, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species, every day brought something new and unforgettable.

The highlights were endless:
🦁 Lions resting beside an elephant carcass
🐆 A cheetah with her two cubs
🦁 A lion feeding on a zebra kill
🌳 A leopard with his impala kill high in a tree
🦒 Lionesses and their cubs guarding a giraffe kill
☕ Morning tea with a lion watching us nearby
🛶 A peaceful mokoro boat cruise through the waterways
🚤 A spectacular river cruise along the Chobe River, surrounded by hippos, crocodiles, and elephants along the banks.

No two days were the same. Every game drive was exciting, every sighting unique. Being so close to these incredible animals in their natural environment was a privilege. Watching their interactions and gaining a deeper understanding of their behaviours made the experience even more special.

A piece of my heart has been left in Botswana. ❤️

We will definitely be back.

Big day exploring the best of Cape Town! 🌄

Started bright and early with a climb up Table Mountain — absolutely worth the effort — then took the cable car back down to enjoy the incredible views from above.

From there, we hit the road to the Cape of Good Hope, taking in the stunning coastline along the way, before finishing the day at Boulders Beach visiting the famous penguins 🐧

What an unforgettable day in one of the most beautiful places in the world!
