Hi all.
Honey and I would like to announce that Col has hung the hat up!
Today was Colin Cathcart last day sailing the ship he has successfully sailed for the last 15 years.
We all would like to congratulate you on your retirement.
Starting 15 years ago driving our Paynesville town service bus for 3 or 4 weeks. He soon showed his colours and worked his way into the office giving Glenda Gillick and Ian Gillick a hand with the running of the business. Within some time with Glenda's condition slowly getting worse it wasn't long before Col took the reins.
Col, from day one has had a go at everything from digging trenches, washing buses, driving school buses, fixing school buses, charter work, extended safari tours, catering for 50 passengers on the road out of the safari trailers with his wife Maureen.
In 2018, Ian and Glenda retired with me taking over the business. In 2019, I met my lovely wife Honey.
We have worked alongside Col since.
Towards the end, you were in charge of 30 odd staff members that all speak very highly of you.
That is a good reference to what a great bloke you are.
There is probably a lot I haven't mentioned.
Col, you a definitely an all-rounder. You run our business like it was yours. You have made some fantastic friends in the industry and some great memories, I'm sure.
When we shook hands today, when it was time to leave, it was like someone cut my arm off. So much knowledge walking out the door.
We will all miss having you around our depot so I hope you will drop in for a coffee ☕️ and a biscuit from time to time.
I hope you get the opportunity to get some kms on that car and caravan.
Thanks again for your amazing efforts over the last 15 years. 👏
Kind regards.
Jason & Honey, Ian & Glenda Gillick.
