From all of us Coopers Travel PTY LTD we would like to send our condolences to the McGeary family & APT staff, on the passing of Geoff McGeary the founder of APT & Travelmarvel. His contribution to travel & tourism was certainly a legacy thay he has left behind. Lynne & Bill Cooper always have fond memories of Geoff's company at travel events.

It is with heartfelt respect and deep gratitude that we celebrate the life and legacy of Geoff McGeary OAM, whose passing on 18th June 2025, just shy of his 84th birthday. This marks the end of an extraordinary chapter and life well lived.
Geoff was more than the drive behind the APT Travel Group—he was its passion. A pioneer of Australian and international touring, Geoff transformed a family business into one of the world’s most loved and respected travel companies.
Aged just 19, he joined the small struggling local route bus business, obtaining an dispensation for an underaged bus drivers license, after his father became unwell, passing away shortly after. With determination and vision, Geoff introduced innovations like restrooms and air-conditioning on coaches, 60-second tents for camping tours, and even a mobile kitchen trailer—decades ahead of his time. Constantly developing the itineraries, he brought destinations to his loyal travellers; New Zealand, The Kimberley, Canada/Alaska, River Cruising, and more.
Alongside his wife Anne, Geoff shaped experiences that connected travellers with landscapes, culture, and people in ways that were both immersive and meaningful.
His legacy lives on through the work of his children Robert and Louise, the APT Board, Executives, and staff, who continue to carry the customer care and determined innovative culture developed by Geoff. APTs Centenary is in 2027.
