Finally the pinnacle of our Safari, saving the best until last ! The jewel in our Safari crown - the famous Wildebeest & Zebra migration crossing and nature did not disappoint. We waited patiently for quite some hours and with our two super experienced & in the know driver/guides we positioned at the perfect spot to experience this spectacle of nature where millions of animals risk flowing currents & predators like crocodiles & lions to reach greener pastures. This thrilling & at times emotional experience, did not disappoint. Look out for the Lion ! Distressing but we were reminded, it truly is the Circle of Life. The Lion King movie truly comes to life. Special thanks to our amazing Magnificent Migration Safari 13 for their fabulous pics & videos to share with all our Lifestyle Family 🙏 🤩

Wow ! Our amazing East Africa Migration Safari over the past 2 weeks has been Incredible. It’s been challenging time wise & connection wise in such remote locations to post but here are some highlights. The Magnificent Migration 13 have described it has ‘best trip ever’ ‘sensational’ ‘wonderful’ and even shed tears of joy when reliving everything we experienced; the beautiful animals, people, sunrises, sunsets, culture, our driver/guides and of course ‘the African Massage ( bumpy roads). We achieved all the bucket list ‘postcard’ pics & have created lifelong memories to cherish forever.

Lifestyle Travel are on Safari !! 🥳 🦍🦁🦒🐘 🐆🦬 Follow along to see what Leonie, the Silverback Six & the Magnificent Migration Safari adventurers get up to over the coming weeks. First up, 6 of us travelled to Rwanda and crossed into Uganda for our Gorilla Trek in the Bwindi Impenetrable NP. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. We trekked for 3 hours before finding our family of Gorillas who were happily playing, eating & resting. We spent 1 hour with them & didn’t want to leave. Hope you enjoy these photos & coming on safari with us. 😍 xx Leonie & the Magnificent Migration 13 🥂

LEONIE IN HAWAII!

Roger & I have just spent a lovely week relaxing on beautiful Waikiki Beach to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Qantas has just recommenced flying directly from Melbourne to Honolulu after a 17-year hiatus and the times are super convenient; In approx. 11 hours you are there.
🌸🌴🌊
Waikiki is a beautiful beach with soft white sand, crystal clear water that is almost like a bath, it’s so warm and you can do many water activities or do nothing, like we did! Every day was at least 27 degrees and no lower than 23 at night.. May is perfect as there were no flies or mosquitoes.
🌸🌴🌊
We visited Pearl Harbor which incorporates many key sites & museums, so you do need to allow almost a whole day there. The USS Arizona memorial is built on top of the USS Arizona sunken battleship bombed by the Japanese in December 1941, which led to the Americans joining World War 2. It is a very moving experience, as it is the final resting place of over 900 officers & crew and is a respected war cemetery site. Another day, we took a circle tour around the whole island of Oahu, visiting beautiful beaches, bays & saw many movie film sites such as Jurassic Park,
🌸🌴🌊
There are so many different hotels to choose from, something to suit all budgets. We stayed at the lovely Sheraton Waikiki for a few nights where we hired our own private cabana for a day, and the beautiful ‘Pink Palace’, the Royal Hawaiian Hotel which I have always wanted to experience. The Royal Hawaiian is part of the Virtuoso hotel program which offers great rates, amenities, upgrades, early check-in & late checkout, breakfast daily and waived resort fees. It truly is an amazing experience for any special anniversary, birthday, honeymoon or just because you deserve to be spoilt!
🌸🌴🌊
As we all know, the international exchange rates for our Australian dollar does make USA travel more expensive, however the beautiful ocean & sunshine is free to enjoy once you are there. It is also now a good stopover option, if you are heading to Canada or the USA. I would highly recommend putting Hawaii on your list for a short sunny breakaway or longer destination holiday.

SANDI IN SRI LANKA!

Sandi has just returned from Sri Lanka and has shared some words and Pics from her trip;

I was fortunate enough to take a 7-day tour of Sri Lanka with Explore, one of our great suppliers. There were so many highlights over this time that it's best to breakdown the highlights, day by day.
🇱🇰
Day 1
- Cycling from Waikkala to Chilaw - enjoying views of the ocean and villages and market stalls.
- Taking a jeep safari through Wilpattu National Park. We were lucky enough to spot a leopard, many elephants and deer before spending the night at the Big Game Safari Camp.
🇱🇰
Day 2

- Visiting the stunning ‘cultural triangle’, one of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO sites. This ancient city reached its height of glory in the 12th century and is known for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Sinhalese civilisation.
- Staying at the amazing Heritance Kandalama.
🇱🇰
Day 3

- A very early start to climb Sigiriya to beat the crowds and the heat. The views from the top were simply stunning!
🇱🇰
Day 4

- Visiting Hill Country where the tea plantations stretch over rolling hills as far as the eye can see.
- We stayed at Nuwara Eliya which known as Little England. Reminiscent of Britain with its red telephone boxes, Victorian colonial architecture and pretty rose gardens.
🇱🇰
Day 5

- Visited the Elephant Transit Home where orphaned elephants are cared for until they're old enough to be released back into the wild.
🇱🇰
Day 6 & 7

- Walking Tour of Galle.
- Visiting the Galle International Cricket stadium where many great Sri Lankan and international players have played.
🇱🇰
There is so much to love about Sri Lanka, and well worth the trip for anyone thinking of visiting this beautiful country.

PENNY IN EUROPE!

Penny has put together some words and images for you to enjoy from her recent trip, river cruising through Europe;

I am thrilled to share my “Danube Dreams” adventure which I have just returned from with Avalon Waterways.
🚢
The trip started from the glorious city of Budapest in Hungary. We decided to spend two nights before the cruise here. If you haven’t been you must go. It is stunning. From Buda on the hilly side of the Danube with Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion to Pest with the Central market, St Stephan’s Cathedral, the Parliament building, this city is very easy to explore and there is something around every corner to see. Not to forget the chimney cakes, they are scrumptious. You will love this city!
🚢
We boarded Avalon Illuminations starting with a night sailing passing all the historic buildings of Budapest, illuminated for the evening. It took my breath away (maybe even had a tear in my eye) it was so beautiful. Our journey took us from Budapest to Bratislava in Slovakia then on to Vienna. I loved exploring these cities, enjoying the food from Schinzel to bratwurst, so pleased we did lots of walking to work all the delicious meals off.
🚢
After leaving the larger cities of Eastern Europe we then sailed into the serene country side. The ship is lovely, spacious and comfortable with the beds facing the window, we got to watch the Wachau Valley go pass and not miss a thing. Krems, Ybbs, Melk, Durnstein, Linz and Passau the journey was very interesting but very relaxing as well. You could explore the towns with included walking tours or explore on your own. Some even rode bikes from one town to the next and met the ship again. Its your holiday to enjoy the way you like it.
🚢
We finished in Vilshofen in Germany which gave us easy access via train to Munich and on to the next destination. This seven day itinerary would be a great addition to your European Itinerary.
🚢
Believe the hype. A river cruise is a fantastic way to see Europe. Its just now about choosing the right itinerary for you!

CARLY IN INDIA!

Carly has recently return from India and has shared some words and images about her journey;
🇮🇳
I was lucky enough to spend 9-nights travelling through the South of India from Chennai to Cochin. It was such a wonderful experience to see an area full of rich history and culture and stunning scenery. From our stay in Pondicherry with its blend of French and Indian culture to the spectacular mansions of Chettinard and then the lush tea plantations of Munnar, it really was such a mix. We explored bustling markets as the sun rose and the cities come to life, historic temples with the locals, tuk tuk rides to fish markets and enjoyed many authentic experiences while staying at a range of heritage and boutique styles of accommodation. There is really something for everyone.
🇮🇳
The traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda, is practised in this area which was also fun to try as it focuses on balancing the mind, body and spirit. A great place for this is in the backwaters of Kerala where you can experience beautiful sunsets, treatments and relaxation.
🇮🇳
Then you have the food. Wow is the only way to describe it. Colourful, tasty and so much variety. My favourite was their Thali set, which is like a tasting plate of vegetarian curries, chutney’s, soups and sauces with rice and roti. YUM!!!!! From seafood and curries to Idli and Dosa, there is so much choice for all.
🇮🇳
The South of India is relatively untouched by Western tourism so if you are wanting to explore an area of the world with the local people, it really is a great choice, and the locals are so happy to see you and so friendly.
