Who's up for some fun with the horses this weekend? PCV are running a really great opportunity for riders and their horses over the weekend at the Ballarat Pony Club Grounds.

Day 1 (Saturday 8 March): Expert coaching on horse health, riding techniques, and race-ready skills.
📅 Day 2 (Sunday 9 March): Gymkhana-style races and an exciting opportunity to ride on a real racetrack!

Camping and yards available at the Ballarat Pony Club Grounds.

The National Pony Racing Series, a partnership between Thoroughbred Industry Careers and Pony Club Australia, is open to all PCA members. These weekends are perfect for riders of all ages, with any size pony or horse! It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, improve balance and control, and learn from experienced coaches.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱: Selectors will be on hand to identify riders for further training and selection for the State Qualifying Races. Riders must be aged between 9 and 15 (as of January 1, 2025), and ponies must be either under 12.2hh or under 14hh to qualify.

If you need to enact your fire plan or need to evacuate during the coming days our gates will be unlocked 25 & 26th December.

You are most welcome. We have 136 yards, water access and wash bays to keep cool.

Please note access will be only via Winter st as Emergency Services Base Camp will be set up in Victoria Park - see map below.

There are bags by the gate for any poo collections. Please keep the gates closed.

We wish you all safety over Christmas and are here if you need a space.

Victoria Park will once again be home to approximately 200 fire fighters over the coming days as a base camp is quickly being established to address the fire situation in western Victoria.

⛔ Road closures ⛔

There will be road closures in and around Victoria Park beginning from Tuesday 24 December to facilitate the traffic management needed for the camp. FFMVic, CFA and the City of Ballarat are working with Victoria Police on these road closures.

Please follow signage throughout the park. Access to the Inclusive Playspace and surrounding parking will remain available.

Our gates will be UNLOCKED tomorrow for anyone and their horses needing to evacuate their areas.

We have 163 yards, water and wash bays. No riding. Keep the gates closed.

Stay Safe and don’t think twice before bringing your horses into town.
