Red dirt. Rattling rails. Roaming rhinos. Now THAT’S a trip.
Last March, Bree from our Toowoomba team swapped the desk for an unforgettable Journey Beyond adventure, experiencing Outback Spirit, The Ghan and Monarto Safari Resort firsthand.
First stop: the Red Centre with Outback Spirit. Travelling by 4WD through the rugged landscape, Bree experienced incredible scenery, great hospitality and the unique character of the Australian outback.
Then it was aboard The Ghan, with a beautiful lounge and bar, locally inspired dining and ever-changing scenery along the way. Her cabin may have been cosy, but as Bree says, you’re really only there to sleep!
The final stop? Monarto Safari Resort — where the Australian adventure took a seriously wild turn. 🦒🦏 With giraffes, white rhinos, cheetahs, hippos and more roaming the wildlife precinct, it was a little taste of Africa right here in Australia.
And naturally, Bree came home with some very useful tips:
🪰 A fly net is a MUST in the Red Centre!
🧳 Pack a duffle bag for The Ghan — cabin space is limited.
🍽️ Try something new at every meal — the menu changes daily.
🎧 Pack earplugs — the tracks can be loud at night.
🌡️ Travelling in the shoulder season? Days can still reach 30–35°C, while nights can drop to around 15°C, so pack for both.
