Waiting for the last wave of the day 🌅
As the sun goes down, the lagoon slows, the sky turns gold, and surfers stay out just a little longer.🏄

Today is a celebration of a colourful part of Tahitian culture, the pāreu! Worn by men and women, as a skirt or a dress or used as a beach towel, light blanket or a covering for an armchair or table, the pareo is the most versatile textile. 💛 Today we encourage the entire population to wear a pāreu for the day! 💃

🏝️ Welcome to Nuku Hiva, the largest island in the Marquesas Islands. Known for its dramatic cliffs, wild valleys and powerful landscapes, this remote island offers a completely different side of The Islands of Tahiti.

A place where nature feels vast, raw and unforgettable.

Some places carry a different kind of energy 🌿
Raiatea is considered the spiritual centre of Polynesia, where history and traditions are still strongly present.

The kind of place where you do not need a plan. A jetty, clear water, and nowhere else to be. In The Islands of Tahiti, access to the lagoon is often this simple and this beautiful. 🌊

Island style 🛹

In Moorea, even a quiet road turns into a playground. With mountains in the background and the sun dropping low, moments like this just happen.

Fun fact: Moorea’s coastal road loops around the island, offering views almost the entire way.

🌺 A gesture that says everything
Offering a flower garland is a way to welcome, to celebrate, or simply to share a moment.

In The Islands of Tahiti, flowers are part of everyday life and carry meaning beyond their beauty.

Today, 20th May, The Islands of Tahiti celebrate Matari'i i raro, the season of slowing and renewal. With the end of the wet season, we enter a drier, cooler period where less grows and the Pleiades constellation disappears from the night sky. ✨🌌

A moment that does not feel real 🐢 Sea turtles are often seen in the lagoons, moving slowly and effortlessly through the water.
Swimming nearby is one of those experiences that stays long after the trip ends.💙

Fun fact: Some turtles return to the same beaches where they were born.
