2 X Business Class Classic Rewards

Sydney ✈️ Vancouver

1 October 2025.

The audacity 😳
Qantas are charging $11,000 one way (or over $14,000 return) on this route.

Or… you could book the exact same seat for 130,100 Qantas points + $637.

This is why we use points 👏

2 x Business Class Classic Rewards 🔥

Sydney ➡️ Paris (via Perth) with the direct Dreamliner flight Perth–Paris 🛫✨

26 November 2025

166,300 Qantas points + $704 per person.
That’s 332,600 points + $1,407 total for 2 adults in Business Class all the way to Europe. 🇫🇷🥂

Perth to Paris clocks in at 17.5 hours 😳 — I could never in economy… but with a flat bed, Champagne and meals, Business Class makes it more than fine.

Would you brave this ultra-long-haul in economy, or only in Business? 👀

✨ Qantas or Velocity? Or Both? ✨

This is one of the most common questions I get — and the truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It really depends on your lifestyle, travel goals, and how many points you can realistically earn each year.

That’s why I put together this quick quiz-style guide you can swipe through. It’s not hard or fast, and there are definitely more factors that could come into play — but this will give you a really good starting point.

This is all based on my own opinion and experience helping people earn and redeem points. Other people’s opinions and experiences may differ slightly, and that’s okay.

The point is: you’ll learn why one program might be a better fit for you, or when it could make sense to use both.

👉 Swipe through, find out your result, and let me know in the comments — are you Team Qantas, Team Velocity, or a bit of both?

✈️ The Best Way to Search for Classic Rewards on the Qantas Website (and How to Find Partner Airlines!)

If you’ve been searching for Classic Rewards on the Qantas site and only seeing Qantas flights, you’re not alone! Many people don’t realise that the way you search makes all the difference in finding partner airlines like Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Finnair, and more.

Here’s my step-by-step guide (& linked video) to make sure you’re seeing all your options:

---

1️⃣ Use the Desktop Website (Not the App)
When searching, always use the Multi-City tab on the desktop site. This removes “Classic Plus” fares (which cost a lot more and are only on Qantas flights) and instead focuses on Classic Rewards — which can be available on Qantas and partner airlines, although they are limited.

2️⃣ Search by Individual Legs
Don’t start with something too broad like “Sydney to Paris” in one search — that will often miss partner options.
Instead, break it down and search via major partner hubs in Asia, for example:

Sydney to Hong Kong (for Qantas & Cathay Pacific)

Melbourne to Tokyo (for Qantas & Japan Airlines)

Then search your onward flight separately, e.g. Hong Kong to Helsinki (Finnair) or Tokyo to Frankfurt (Japan Airlines).

3️⃣ Know the Routes Before You Search
Check the partner airline’s own website or Google for their route map so you’re only searching flights they actually operate. Searching for a route they don’t fly will never bring up results.

4️⃣ If It’s Not Showing, It’s Not Available
If you’ve searched the exact route and airline and it’s not coming up, that means there are no Classic Rewards available for that date at the moment.

5️⃣ Check Regularly — Partner Airlines Often Release Seats Randomly
Qantas and many partners no longer stick to fixed release schedules. Premium cabins such as premium economy, business, and first class can appear at any time, sometimes even just a few days before departure.

---

💡 My Tip:
Make it a habit to check at different times of day and over multiple days. Flexibility in both dates and routes gives you the best shot at catching those rare premium seats.

🎥 I’ve made a step-by-step video showing exactly how to search on the Qantas website, which I’ll link here so you can follow along visually.

Great news for Adelaide!

Great news for Adelaide!

Another Executive Traveller exclusive: Malaysia Airlines is bringing its latest Airbus A330neo jets to Adelaide.

The A330neo boasts private business class suites, larger overhead luggage bins and an overall quieter ride for every passenger from tip to tail.

And these A330neo flights will run every day from late January to the end of March – although the current timetable shows a return to five A330 flights per week after that point.

However, Malaysia Airlines is intent on steadily upgrading all Australian A330 flights to the modern A330neo version as its fleet grows.

2 X Business Class Classic Rewards

Melbourne to Honolulu

16 September 2025

98,400 Qantas Points + A$633 taxes/carrier charges. Retail price is currently over A$4,000 one way.

This is a fairly new route for Qantas and it’s rarely released as a Classic Reward, but I’ve noticed the odd flight pop up a bit closer to departure when demand isn’t as high. I’ve barely seen any Sydney to Honolulu lately, so if this fits your dates, it’s a great find.

Around 10 hours 20 minutes in lie-flat Business Class aboard a Qantas A330 with just 28 seats in the cabin, offering plenty of space, privacy, and access to Qantas Business lounge in Melbourne.

4 X Business Class Classic Rewards

Melbourne to Tokyo

29 January 2026

Nearly 10 hours in lie-flat Business Class to Japan? 🇯🇵✨ Yes, please.

Just 3 days ago, a huge batch of reward seats dropped over Christmas & school holidays — in both directions. These are the rare dates everyone wants, and they’re now all but gone.

My members were alerted within the hour, giving them first pick of the bunch. But one gem remains… MEL–Tokyo, 29 Jan 2026 ❄️ Perfect for Japan’s snow season.

2 X Business Class Classic Rewards

Sydney to Hong Kong ✈️

11 February 2026

Flying Cathay Pacific’s A350 with lie-flat seats.

Even after the price rise, I still think this 9.5 hours in comfort for just 90,000 points + $227 in taxes and carrier charges is still amazing value.

What’s your thoughts on the increase to Qantas points? Do you still think there are some great deals out there? 🥂

🔥 FOUR x Business Class Classic Rewards

📍Sydney to Dallas

📅 20 August 2025

A rare find—and a great way to get to the States using points!

Qantas does occasionally release Business Class Classic Rewards to North America (like Dallas, LA, San Francisco and Vancouver) last minute or in random drops—but we haven’t seen one in a while, and it’s looking unlikely we’ll see another before the upcoming price rise.

💡 Hot tip: If you already have an Economy Classic Reward booked, you can switch to Business Class for just 5,000 Qantas Points (plus any point/tax difference). That’s why being flexible and having something locked in can really pay off!

✈️ Would you snap this up?
