Mansfield is a traditional farmhouse cottage nestled in the beautiful Barrington River Valley, situated right on the river and located in the foothills to the Barrington Tops Wilderness & Gloucester Tops Waterfalls....
In the heart of farming country, surrounded by farms and farm animals - animal numbers vary dependent on farmers requirements. Our new “Mansfield” FAIRYLAND is just beautiful, we have four Fairy Houses and an Elf House for you to DISCOVER… secretly hidden away on our River Nature Walk. Fairyland is now home to 2 Fairies, we are hoping for more Fairies and at least 1 Elf, to find their way to our “Mansfield” Fairyland. Can you find the 2 Fairies, one has the "key to my heart" and the other lives swinging high in the trees, there is also 3 Suncatchers for you to find!!! Will the Fairies play their magical music for you, I have only heard the Music once... (Secret - the fairies use their magical wings to play their music)…
For the night adventurous there are fairy firefly lights to be delighted by…
The Fairy Builder has chimneys and windows to install soon and has whispered to me that they think the windows may glow at night …
We asked them if the chimneys would smoke they didn’t know but thought the fairies and elf would need their in the winter. Remember to bring some Fairy Dust to spread, so a little of your Fairy Spirit remains in Fairyland FOREVER!!! Mansfield is just 3 hours North of Sydney, 90 minutes North of Newcastle, all on tar sealed roads. We are 70kms from the Barrington Tops World Heritage Wilderness and Gloucester Tops Waterfalls. The property has been owned and operated by four generations of the Perram Family, originally operating as a Dairy and Beef Farm, from the 1800s. On display at Mansfield, is a Christmas card from my Great Grandfather & Great Grandmother for Christmas 1913. In September 2002, the Cottage was converted into Holiday Accommodation and enjoys a very successful role in the local tourism industry. "Mansfield"
Although Mansfield is just 100m above sea level, the contrasts of the seasons are tremendous, from a summer high average of 24.5c (maximums of +30c) down to a cool winter low average of minus 2c (minimums of below -4c can occur). As you can imagine, with these changes the seasons of Autumn & Spring are fantastic. The comfortable, traditional, 4 bedroom farmhouse cottage is located in the picturesque Barrington River Valley and just 150m from the Barrington River. This river is well know for it's canoeing, swimming, fishing and tubing activities, as well as a great location for bird & fauna watching - seeking the shy and elusive platypus is very popular. Fully equipped Kitchen and fully equipped Laundry. Just bring your own food and drinks, remember all linen, towels, toilet paper and even soap are provided - the only thing missing is YOU!!! Climate
