Today, these remarkable group of women successfully completed the final hike in the Scenic Rim Regional Councils EmpowHer program progressive hike series by reaching the summit of Mount Maroon! For many, this was their first hike with us, and they soon discovered that this was not an ordinary hike—it’s a challenging climb, an achievement and a true testament to their capabilities.

We are immensely proud of their perseverance and determination. They pushed through obstacles when giving up would have been the easier option, proving that overcoming challenges can lead to amazing accomplishments.

Since our planned hike to the Caves circuit at Binna Burra is still closed, we decided to trade one cave for another and ventured to the Mount Maroon caves, which certainly exceeded our expectations.

These caves are slightly off the beaten path, requiring a sense of adventure, but it was totally worth it. The reward was hot coffee and homemade scones, as we enjoyed a lively chat while soaking in the breathtaking views.

With freezing temperatures this morning, adopting a "Y-not" attitude was essential—and we certainly embraced it!

We trekked an impressive 20 kilometers to Mount Cordeaux and Bare Rock. Some doubted their ability to walk that far, but just look at what happens when you're surrounded by great company and stunning views: you surpass your own expectations and leave feeling accomplished.

This is what the Scenic Rim Regional Council EmpowHer program is all about: stepping outside your comfort zone and accomplishing things you didnt know you could.

Well done, ladies! Your wonderful company and "Y-not" spirit always shine through. We truly appreciate your efforts!

These wonderful women arrived with a Y-not attitude to todays Scenic Rim Regional Council EmpowHer hike and made the most of the gorgeous surroundings of the Lower Portals, even taking the plunge into the very chilly waters of the gorge. Great vibes and happy hiking had by all. 🥾🌿

A hike around Daves Creek at Binna Burra this morning where we embraced the wet, muddy conditions as all part of the adventure. Saying Y-not rarely comes with regrets, you’ll suprise yourself.

Due to track closures, this Sunday’s hike has been changed from the Caves Track to the Daves Creek Circuit at Binna Burra.

The Daves Creek trail is approximately 12 km long and features gentle, undulating terrain without steep ascents or descents. It offers a diverse and engaging experience as we navigate through varied landscapes while enjoying stunning views, making it a truly enjoyable hike.
