We are delighted to announce the 2026 Cyril Callister Foundation Science Scholarship at Federation University Ballarat.
This scholarship proudly honours the legacy of Cyril Callister, the brilliant Australian scientist born in Chute, Victoria, who went on to invent Vegemite and contribute to Australiaโs food science story in such an iconic way.
Through the Cyril Callister Foundation, we are proud to continue Cyrilโs belief in education, science and opportunity, especially for regional students with big ideas and bright futures.
The 2026 scholarship will support a Federation University Ballarat student pursuing science, helping them take the next step in their studies and their future career.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports the Cyril Callister Foundation and the Cyril Callister Vegemite Museum. Every visit, donation and purchase helps us keep Cyrilโs story alive while investing in the next generation of curious minds.
From one regional scientistโs remarkable legacy to the scientists of tomorrow, this is what community in action looks like.
"My studies and volunteer work with the Ballarat Wildlife Hospital take me across western Victoria, tracking koalas, echidnas and raptors in the field. The travel and fuel costs add up quickly, so the Cyril Callister Foundation Science Scholarship makes a real difference, helping me continue my university studies and support vital wildlife research.โ
