This is a must do in Cairo! It is still a work in progress but well worth the visit!

Originally slated for this July, the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, or GEM, has been further delayed until the end of the year. The GEM is the largest archaeological museum in the world, and its sleek, modern architecture contrasts beautifully with ornate Old Cairo. The good news is that parts of the GEM are already open to the public. Furthermore, the collection of King Tutankhamun remains on display at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Tahrir Square.
