Well that’s a wrap for our Queensland tour. Was a nice way to wind up with a group dinner. The boys played some good cricket throughout the week but more importantly they formed some lifelong friends, memories and learnings. Was a fantastic week with many highlights. Time to start planning our upcoming tours with options being to Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Queensland again.

Game 5 today saw us have to change to a Twnty/20 match as some Victorian weather made its way up here! We won the toss and batted first producing one of the better scores I’ve seen in this format for this age making 4/139 off 20 overs. Standouts were Oliver McKenzie 55 off 44

We had our opportunities with the ball but didn’t take them and their openers batted very well. Mitch McCann sparked us though with consecutive wickets and was only millimetres away from a hat trick. They passed us in the last over in another competitive game.

The boys didn’t get the win today but that’s ok. The learnings about the game they are getting is invaluable. Our boys made 170. Top scorers were Aston Wilson with 66 and Jonty Yates 25. Gold Coast replied with 7/171 leading wicket takers were Jake Mulqueen 2/21 and George Reinehr 2/39

Hame 3 results was yet another win for the Central Vic Academy boys. T/20 match with GC Dolphins making 5/96
Wickets were shared with Mitch Clark and Jonty Yates getting 2 apiece with singles to Angus and Jake Mulqueen
The boys then made the runs with 5 balls to spare finishing on 3/97
Leading run scorers were Kai O’hehir 29 Aston Wilson 26no & Jake Mulqueen 20no. Not many pics today as I was stuck in traffic picking up a bus but here’s the scorecards for those that are following.

Day 3 sees us heading to the Gold Coast for a T/20 against a GC rep team at Runaway Bay. But last night the boys headed to Alan Border Oval to watch the Australian women’s team play New Zealand. Fair to say they had a great night and maybe a little star struck with Phoebe Litchfield! Also a big shout out to Tayla Vlaeminck getting a picture with our Bendigo boys! Last but not least it’s a big Happy Birthday to Jake Boucher and Mitch Clark

Another great day for the boys with some great performances. We bowled Brisbane Boys College out for 155 with Jake Boucher getting 4/29. All bowlers improving on day 1. They then batted awesomely again making 6/366 with the standouts being
Jonty Yates 100 retired (first ever century)
Crue Lucas 55 (first ever 50 & first ever 6)
Angus O’brien 46
George Reinehr 40
We are very thankful to the Brisbane Boys College who were slightly undermanned but showed a lot of promise and determination.
