A local Bendigo family are featured on an International Documentary airing on Fox Nation and Tubi.
Catherine Boyer & Gary Boyer have been the Australian Ambassadors for KIF1A KAND since their son Edward was eventually formally diagnosed in 2015 at 4 years of age. Edward was the 1st diagnosis in Australia and at that time #12 Worldwide. It had been a tough road with many challenges. Edward is now 15 and permanently in a wheelchair, legally blind, suffers from seizures and the family see the decline in cognitive childhood dementia.
Murdoch Children's Research Institute - MCRI is the KIF1A KAND lifeline here in Melbourne, the Doctors, Researchers and Staff building a Community for the now 23 diagnosed in Australia and 600 worldwide.
MCRI Research facility is in the top 3 in the world and leading the charge to find a treatment and hopefully someday a cure. Stopping the childhood dementia is a race against time.
