Bendigo Walking Tours

Bendigo Walking Tours Unique, guided walking tour which explores beyond the stories of gold and mass migration to Bendigo, and into the hidden secrets, history and city tales.

Bendigo Walking Tours is BACK! Your tour hosts Jill and Pete are back with their fascinating tour of Bendigo’s history and landmarks. The popular two-hour outdoor tour weaving through Bendigo’s historic CBD streetscapes and stunning parks and gardens is now running with tours available Friday - Monday.

➤ About the two-hour tour
We describe how gold and mass migration transformed a sleepy sheep ru

n and land of the Dja Dja Wurrung into the world's richest city of the 1880s. We recall the Bendigo people, events and fabulous wealth that built 'Marvellous Melbourne' and shaped a new nation. We explore Bendigo's role in campaigns for democracy, votes for women, trade unionism and Federation. Our stories range from radicals to royalty, larrikins to leaders and include the quirky, remarkable, sometimes humorous, often forgotten, but always intriguing stories of our city.

➤ Where do we walk? Our two-hour tour starts at the Bendigo Conservatory adjoining Pall Mall and moves through the former Government Camp covering a distance of less than a kilometre and finishes at the top of View St next to the Bendigo Art Gallery.

WALKING TOURS PAUSE
‘TIL FURTHER NOTICE

Sadly, we’ve decided it’s best for all concerned to pause our walking tours for the time being.

We love sharing the remarkable story of our great city – but it seems the only option for now.

Our walking tours are about human connection – our hallmark is for intimate, small group experiences – it’s all about people past and present.

We can ‘t do what we do, create a connection, and keep our distance from everyone.

We also need to support the huge effort taking place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, we’re working on two new tours, new experiences to make your visit to Bendigo even more memorable when we resume.

Please remember us in your travel plans later this year.
