Looking forward to a fantastic Yellow Fin Tuna Season.... SO GOOD....

This year will be so much more successful with a Highly Experienced Professional Long Line Tuna Decky on board who is also 1 of the best fish processors in Bermi.... his butchery of YFT is 1st class.... he is having a break from long lining after over 20 years to be at home with his family.... SO SO LUCKY.... he still loves fishing & being at sea.... just imagine the stories he can tell.... & he is a really nice humble family man....

So after the last over 2 months of barren Ocean Desert Down Welling off Bermi with the good water over 50 nM out & the long liners catching tonnes of Tuna on their multiple nights out wide..... the GOOD WATER is finally pushing in.... there are still lots of YFT out there & the Long Liners are working down past Mallacoota in the Bass Strait.... the Blue Fin Tuna will start to come North as well....

Wednesday 16th June we headed out on our 3rd look at the water conditions out over the shelf on a Crew Training Day for Andrew... he has mainly been on big long liners for multiple nights a long way from home for the past 20 years which is very different from a little 35ft charter boat.... our team work was excellent....

So we put the lines in & within 30 minutes we had a double hook up & as Andrew was clearing 1 of the lines he hooked up.... so 1st trip we had a triple hook up with 2 people on board... so as Andrew's fish was closest to the boat we had to catch that 1 first while towing the other 2.... the fish gave a really good fight of around 30 minutes.... then we finally got him boat side I gaffed him then Andrew helped me lift him in with a 2nd gaff... then we each started to reel the other 2 in that were no where near as fiesty... catching them as well.... we Ikijimed, gutted, gilled all before 10am then as I had only taken 2 bags of ice hoping to get an Albie we had to come home using the deck hose to cool the fish down.... we left at around 7am & back before 12pm with 3 YFT Schoolies that weighed around 35kg each.... most tuna schools have the same size & age fish.... SO GOOD.... Andrew filleted & processed the tuna like a professional fish butcher.. lots of prime YFT in my freezer now.... I am so lucky to have him on board.... we will catch so many more fish this season... cant wait.... so exciting...

So anyhow.... if you would like to come catch some beautiful YFT, Albacore & BFT.... NOW is the time....

We do Trolling & Stick Baiting, however, you are wasting your time if you havent caught lots of fish casting..... so therefore to be fair to everyone on board we have a rule that you must be PROFICIENT at casting Stick Bait rods & have your own Stick Bait Outfit. The only people who can catch a YFT on a Stick Bait rod have had years of practice.

The Tuna Whisperer Andrew my new decky made it to the Boss Outdoor Fishing Report....

Reel Weapon also caught 2 YFT off Bermi on the same day....Congratulations Dick & Allan....

The good water has pushed in... time to go Tuna fishing....

Interesting to note the YFT season on the South Coast started 3 months ago for the Long Liners.... however they were working at least 50 nM out....

The good water has only just pushed in this week.... the long liners are now busy catching tonnes of BFT down past Mallacoota..

Plenty of fish out there... just gotta go catch them....

When you get a triple hook up 30 minutes after putting your lines in it means you have put down on a big school... this school will move on over the next week or so.... we would have caught lots more & stick baiting would have been successful....we only wanted 1 fish... so was stoked with 3.....

We now have a Professional Long Line Decky who is said to be 1 of the best fish processors in Bermi. It is too hard for me to get the fish onto the boat by myself then clean 8 yellow fin by myself after being out fishing all day... then do the same next day...

We are still the cheapest game fishing boat on the East Coast.

Wow what a morning....

Have a new decky.... extensive experience on Long Liners for over 20 years.... said to be the best tuna filleter & processor in Bermi.... & a really nice guy....

I found it really difficult to process the fish last year by myself.... now I have a professional commercial Tuna Longliner decky.... he is having a holiday from long offshore trips to be with his family.... his filleting is exceptional & he has extensive experience off shore.... so good.... thank you Andrew I really appreciate it....

So the Yellow Fin have turned up... along with pilot whales... big pods of dolphins & an even a free jumping marlin.... finally the good water has pushed in.... now we can start YFT charters....

Our new season price is $1500 for a Private Charter.... which is very inexpensive to have your fish processed in a very professional manner.... he also Ikijime dispatches the fish, gutted, gilled & bleed while we continue to catch some more.... we are going to catch so many more fish this season with a professional long liner decky on board... bring it on...

So anyhow we went south today & about 30 minutes after we put the skirts in we got a triple hook up with 2 of us on board.... when Andrew was winding his in he hooked up.... so I cleared the other lines & as Andrews fish was coming first we left the other 2 Tiagras in the rod holders & towed them round.... I gaffed Andrews fish & we started to bring the other 2 in.... we caught the whole 3 of them.... so good....

It was only the 3rd YFT trip this year & the other 2 were absolutely dead as a dodo... so not expecting to see too much & hoping to get an Albie I only took 2 bags of ice.... so we kept the deck hose running through the gutted & gilled YFT keeping them cool....

We hooked up around 8.30-9 am.... & headed home around 10am... we could have caught many more....
