Thanks to the emergency services who are currently controlling the Yowrie bushfire. Conditions could change so it is important to stay informed by checking NSW Rural Fire Service and, if you haven't already, download the Hazards Near me app to your device.
Heatwave conditions on the NSW south coast are forecast to continue till tomorrow. Changes in wind direction may also bring smoke towards the coast.
Stay safe!
I have spoken directly with the Minister for Emergency Services, Jihad Dib, who is in constant contact with the NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner regarding the bushfire burning in Wadbilliga National Park.
The fire, located north of Yowrie and approximately 20 kilometres west of Cobargo, is being treated very seriously. A strong multi-agency response is underway, with RFS, National Parks and Wildlife Service and Forestry Corporation firefighters on the ground, supported by around seven aircraft actively waterbombing.
Please stay informed through official NSW RFS channels and the Hazards Near Me app, review bushfire survival plans and remain alert as conditions remain hot and dry.
Please report any unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).
