Not in the mood to chat? Emirates’ new Premium Economy seat has a button for that.

Your next seatmate may still beat you to the armrest, but Emirates has found a way to help you pretend they are not there. The airline has unveiled what it says is the world’s first fully electrically powered Premium Economy seat, complete with a full-height adjustable privacy screen between every seat.

Debuting aboard newly delivered Emirates Airbus A350 aircraft, the seat brings a distinctly Business Class-style feature into the cabin below, without requiring passengers to master the delicate art of avoiding eye contact for 14 hours.

The new Premium Economy cabin is arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration with just 28 seats. Each is 20 inches wide, with a pitch of up to 39 inches, and reclines into a cradle position without encroaching on the passenger behind
