Welcome to the official page for the Sandstone Wonders, Queensland, Australia – established by the Banana Shire Council. Sprawled across almost 82,000 km2, the immense and diverse landscapes of the Sandstone Wonders region are nothing short of awe-inspiring. Bastions of a world before time, more than 25 mountain ranges make up the area and for its sheer size and scale, it’s known as ‘the roof of Queensland’. Gaping valleys and plains rise up to towering cliff tops, interrupted here and there by deep gorges, rocky outcrops and flowing, freshwater streams. Several ranges fall within easy distance of townships that skirt the Dawson and Leichhardt highways, including Isla Gorge National Park, Lake Murphy Regional Park, Expedition National Park, Robinson Gorge, Lonesome, Beilba, Kroombit Tops National Park and Nathan Gorge. The Banana Shire area is renowned for river fishing and natural area camping. Towns of the Banana Shire include Biloela, Taroom and Theodore.

The Red Steer Thangool Sandstone Wonders, Queensland, Australia

The cattle will be lowing at The Red Steer at our annual Christmas Carols Saturday 20th. Join Christine and Lyn as they lead us in classic carols from 6pm.
Auditions for Little Drummer Boys will be made on the evening, all are welcome to apply.

$30 entry includes a dinner buffet from 6.30pm, light dessert, and a donation to Anglicare's Adopt-a-Family.

The much anticipated Rotary Club of Biloela - Annual Market Day is here! 🎉
Doors open tomorrow (Saturday 25 Oct) at 9am till 3pm.
🎟Just $3 entry for adults, kids under 12 are FREE, at the Biloela Civic Centre.
There will be plenty of stalls to checkout with new stall holders and your favourites. Silent Auction, lucky door etc.
Bring your cash 💸 (no ATM) and stock up for those much loved Birthday and Christmas pressies 🎁 or maybe a treat or two for yourself 😁
