PARKINSON'S OPEN DAY
Our Parkinson’s Open Day in April was a beautiful day of connection and inspiration. Will Boag conducted a walking workshop teaching others how he has been able to walk 15 Caminos since his Parkinson’s diagnosis. He is currently walking in Spain – you can read more about this walk and his prior pilgrimages at www.willtowalk.com.au
We had guest speakers, physios, dance, music, as well as Isobel from Shake It Up ( https://www.facebook.com/shakeitupaust) sharing with us the latest research to manage - and one day hopefully cure - Parkinson's.
“The event felt thoughtfully curated, well-balanced and meaningful from the heart with a genuine spirit of being there for one another, hopeful, no matter how 'rocky' the journey may be” - Open Day Attendee.
We are thankful to the Country Women's Association (CWA) of NSW Blackheath who baked the most delicious morning tea.
This is the 3rd Open Day we’ve held, timing it during Parkinson’s Awareness month, in memory of Margaret’s dad, who had Parkinson’s.
