Emu Trekkers is a not-for-profit charity offering adventurous hiking tours around Sydney and the Blue Mountains, raising funds to support disadvantaged children and youth in Australia. All of our guides are volunteers that are passionate about our cause and the outdoors. As an organisation, we are dedicated to three main aims:

1. Helping disadvantaged youth

2. Promoting the Environment
The Australian bush is a beautiful, yet fragile place. We are committed to promoting the Australian environment in a way that minimises our footprint and fosters an appreciation for the outdoors.

Blue Mountains Magic with Emu Trekkers! 🌄
What an epic adventure! Our latest Emu Trekkers hike took us to the breathtaking Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Surrounded by endless views, lush forests, and cascading waterfalls, our group of explorers soaked up every moment.

Every step we take helps make a difference, with all proceeds from our hikes supporting charities for kids in need. Thanks to our amazing volunteer guides and enthusiastic trekkers for making memories, forging new friendships, and helping us tackle disadvantage one step at a time.

Grand Canyon delights & a well-earned nap!

20+ international students from UNSW enjoyed a stunning experience last weekend, before a well-earned nap on the trip back to campus. They tackled the Grand Canyon Loop - one of the most spectacular trails in the upper Blueys.

The experience in the Aussie bush is part of the wonderful Global Sport Program run by Arc - UNSW Student Life.

Every step you take on an Emu Trekkers hike gives children in remote communities the same opportunities that children in cities have: access to education, jobs and wellbeing.

Each weekend, our volunteer guides lead hikers through hidden valleys and rainforest paths in the stunning Blue Mountains. While the Three Sisters get all the fame, the journey through Leura Forest often captivates our hikers the most.

Since 2017, we've donated over $100,000 to support the work of the The Indigenous Literacy FoundationI, that's equivalent to 10,000 culturally appropriate books in the hands of children.

A Wednesday Wildlife Spectacle in the Blue Mountains! 🦜🌿

Our lucky hikers hit the jackpot on our mid-week hike with spectacular sightings of Australian birds. From the majestic Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos soaring overhead to the elusive Superb Lyrebird dancing through the undergrowth - this was a wildlife extravaganza.

Our expert guides Tony & Mark spotted an impressive 14 native species, including the charismatic Laughing Kookaburra and the stunning Crimson Rosella.

A magical weekend in the Blue Mountains with an incredible group of Georges River Life Care supporters. 🌄✨

What an epic Six Foot Track adventure - we spotted a rare platypus playing in the Coxs River and watched nature's light show as summer storms rolled across the valley.

To our amazing volunteer guides and the wonderful trekkers who joined us - your spirit of adventure brings important awareness and support for families in Sydney's Georges River community through domestic violence recovery, emergency relief, and vital family support programs. 💙
