With the 2025 touring season about to kick off it is time to announce our 2026 tour dates!
Next year as usual we are covering this beautiful country of ours from the far flung south with a luxury tour on bitumen in Tassie kicking off in February, to the very top areas at Lorella Springs, two Canning Stock Route tours next year running these as a loop tour and don’t forget the simply stunning Maralinga Beadell tour, starting in Ceduna and winding up at 80 mile beach, what a year it will be. If you are interested in any of the tours posted please give Adam a call on 0408 780 072

Today I have something very exciting to announce! Over the last couple of months I have been piecing together the first road car tour for Tracks 4x4 Tagalong. I am very proud of this tour, and it even takes us overseas😂. I am off to Tassie in February 2026 for my first ever bitumen tour! And what a beauty it is going to be. We will be staying in some of Tasmania’s finest accommodation, eating at beautiful restaurants and visiting the must see sites of Tassie.
Ever wanted to sit on the rolling lawns of a champagne house, glass in hand selecting beautiful nibbles placed in front of you, well now you can. What about a little modern history the mine collapse at Beaconsfield? Let’s explore together the wonderful museum. Something modern and a little out there? Yes we will take the ferry to Mona. Keen for a market we have a 3 minute walk from our accommodation to the Salamanca markets.
The list of highlights guys is endless, but be sure you will leave Tassie having a very large taste of her!

Another year done! And what a simply brilliant year it has been, thank you so much to everybody who has shared my amazing adventures!
It is always so hard at this time of year to pick the best photos, I have literally thousands to go through. Here are 50 from my year showing how beautiful this country we call home truly is. I urge anyone reading this to get out and have a look around.
So what did we get up to this year? I started as always in the Victorian High Country, always a fun filled 5 days, taking in all the grandeur that is the Victorian High Country, from Craigs hut to Wonnangatta valley to Dargo through to Tom Groggin all of it gorgeous with another group of wonderful people to share it with.
In late March I headed into the Simpson for the first of my back to back Simpson loop tours, one of my most popular tours, The Simpson loop tour starting and finishing in Birdsville, on the way we crossed the Simpson, had dinner at Mount Dare, stood at the geographical centre of Australia, visited the early explorers street sign, restocked in Alice before heading down the gorgeous Hay River Track again what beautiful people I met and what fun we had. Thank you to you all for joining me we fixed some cars had lots of laughs and took in the atmosphere of remote Australia.
I gave myself a little break after these two crossings and headed to Darwin, caught up with family and generally recharged the batteries for the Canning Stock Route.
The Canning in May, what can you say? What a terrific group to show this iconic track, I thank you one and all for a truly fantastic trip, this year we did not even have too much tyre damage. Although for the first time ever I made it out with both spare tyres destroyed! A few anxious days at the end on this one praying I would not do another tyre! We were lucky enough to have a beautiful bull Camel come right into camp for a mud bath and a drink, what beautiful creatures these guys are. We had many a challenge due to flooding this year but with the help of local knowledge and the permit office I was able to navigate everybody along the whole course of the Canning.
After the fun of the Canning I headed across to Lorella Springs, what a privilege it is to still be allowed to run tours on Lorella. It is without a doubt the jewel of the Gulf, this is a very different tour where we head out each day to explore waterholes, billabongs, thermal pools and serenity. The hosts Rhett and Marie always put on a great feed and love sharing the history of this stunning property.
In August I headed back to the Simpson, another very successful loop trip with another group of beautiful people, thank you one and all for making it a successful trip.
After the Simpson it was time to head to cape York, this one is always a great trip with the offer of lots of accommodation or camping the whole way, we visited old gold mines, remote beaches, dusty tracks, we saw deep water crossings, and of course got the must have photo standing at the northern most tip of Australia.
After the Cape I had a little time off and went exploring, more on that another day!
And then in November I finished my year off with another run through the Victorian High Country, lots of old friends joined me on this one, with new friends also coming along for this iconic run through the High Country. The weather was perfect showcasing the beauty of the Victorian High Country.
So that brings us up to date, I will be back rested and ready to show more beautiful people this country of ours. I will in 2025 be criss crossing this amazing nation of ours, exploring all of Len Beadell’s tracks, traversing the Canning navigating the Simpson and generally having a whale of a time.
My sincerest Thank you to all of you who made 2024 into the special year that was, and I look forward so much to showing those of you already booked in for one of my tours in 2025.
I wish you all a very safe and happy Christmas and New Year period, enjoy your loved ones and precious time spent with them, and I am looking forward to seeing you out there on the tracks in 2025.

What a beautiful crossing of the Simpson and then down the Hay River track we have had over the past two weeks. The flowers were simply magnificent! The Desert is the greenest I have ever seen. The Dingoes are far and happy, sadly a few too many feral cats as well🤬. A great group of people, some mechanical issues including a complete shorting out of a Holden Colorado, which meant for the first time ever we had to call the recovery truck in😪 all in all though a fantastic trip enjoyed by every.

Wow wow wow! A phrase used a lot by one of my customers on the Canning this year!! Well we made it 24 days of isolation friendship and fun. What an amazing group of people to share time with, thank you one and all for coming with me.
And didn’t the Canning turn it on this year, I have never seen it so green, a couple of simple detours down south and then the huge one around Lake Gregory 50k’s of pure off road driving picking a safe route around the flood waters. We had permits for Mulan community as well as Balgo to enable us to do the detour. Definitely one for the memory bank and one to be only undertaken by an experienced traveller!
I can’t see the Northern end around well 51 opening this year there is just so much water out there we were at time 6 km off the lake and still we were going around water.
But what a trip the colours this year so so green felt at times we were driving in wheat fields.
The cars this year all handled remarkably well only a few tyres really to speak of. A little drama at 1:30 one morning when a Chinese diesel heater caught fire in a Trayon camper fire extinguishers to the rescue! But a fantastic trip with memories a plenty for everyone.
Thanks guys what an adventure!!

So far had an excellent trip North found an easy way around well 25 the tour had great fun on the new track.
We push further North tomorrow well 46 totally flooded and a massive detour to navigate around the inland lake that is normally Lake Gregory. That will be a bit of fun with a great group of people loving the Canning

Our second crossing of the Simpson was an absolute hit. After everyone made it into Birdsville we had a wonderful trip. Thanks so much Jack for your comment below this is why I love my job.

Hi Adam,
Thanks for guiding us through the Simpson. Scenery, companionship, support and safety were all we could have hoped for.

Looking forward to joining you again on a subsequent trip,

The first of the Simpson loop trips was an amazing run through a vivid green desert. There were times we thought we were in Gippsland, it was that green, simply stunning with a fantastic group of people.

Another wet start to the year! Half way through our first Simpson loop trip.
Alice Springs is a sunny haven now but has had 130mm of rain so the Desert was another wet event. Had to navigate around the big salt pans and ended up at Rainbow valley instead of Chambers Pillar. Everyone made it through with not a single bogging.

Let’s hope the Simpsons not this wet in 2024, this was taken on the wettest Simpson crossing I have ever done, back in May 2022. Had an absolute ball, join us this year have a spot left on our Simpson Hay River loop tours leaving at the end of March and also mid April. Give me a call 0408780072 or check out the website for other tours and dates www.tracks4x4tagalong.com.au

2024 is upon us! So a brand new year to explore this remarkable continent we call home! Start the year off in the Simpson, my first Simpson Hay river track tour still has a couple of spots left on it. We leave Birdsville on the 30th of March, only two weeks after the desert opens for the season. The tracks should be in great shape after 4 months rest! 30 degrees during the day down to 21 degrees average temps are just glorious, and the bonus is there are less people out there enjoying it all.
Enjoy the challenge of dunes and then soak away the dirt in 37 degree water at Dalhousie Hot Springs before a beautiful meal at the iconic Mt Dare Hotel, then travel up to the explorers marker post Chambers Pillar before a rest day in Alice, don't get too comfy though the East MacDonnell ranges and then the magnificent Hay river track are still screaming for your attention!
This is always our most popular tour we only have a couple of spots left for our first trip of the year, secure your spot now. Visit www.tracks4x4tagalong.com.au to send through a booking form or give Adam a call on 0408780072
