The Hay river track
This year it was a totally new track! The level of flooding and the power of the water must have been amazing to see. Debris high up in trees rerouting of the track and major damage but….. it still is in my opinion one of the most beautiful tracks in Australia, it’s only short but so worth the trip.
It was wild flower central for our loop tour with flowers higher than the roof!
We leave Birdsville again tomorrow for our final tour through the Simpson heading for Yulara, looking forward to seeing the botanical display through the Finke River Gorge 💓

I am writing this after a beautiful breakfast on our rest day in Alice Springs.
We are a week into our Simpson tour and well it’s not a Desert is it!
The flowers are gorgeous, the reptiles nice and deadly are out in force, varying temperatures from hot to quite mild what a beautiful time to be in the Desert.
I am lucky to be able to travel this beautiful country with groups of great people who inspire me to keep going.
We were lucky enough to meet the guys racing bikes across the Simpson hard work with the headwind they had the day we met them. I am sure they are now finished and hopefully had a celebratory drink! They truly deserve it😅.
From Alice we head back out tomorrow for a run into the East MacDonnell Ranges before continuing down the Hay River track and back into Birdsville.

Water water every where😁
When will the Simpson return to the desert we once knew🤷‍♂️ no time yet judging by the vibrancy of the vegetation and the standing water on both sides.
Even wiggling your toes on the top of big red you can feel the moisture in the sand.
We crossed the Simpson late last week to arrive in Birdsville in time to head out on the first of my two tours leaving on Wednesday. Our challenge was to arrive in Birdsville in time for the kick off in the AFL and to celebrate my beautiful partners birthday. Tick to both of these what an amazing game of footy so glad we made it in time.
Enjoy a few photos from this crossing more reptiles than normal as we came across just a couple of Camels but no Dingoes this time.

So a few shots from the Anne Beadell highway.
1363k’s traveled and 175l of diesel burnt.
What a trip! We had amazing storms to beautiful clear days, so many beautiful sites over the days, as usual the photos never do the vastness justice.
Oh well I suppose the best way to see it is to join me on amazing tour😁
We restocked in Coober Pedy and continue our journey East so many more fabulous places to visit before we reach our destination at Byron Bay

I’m waiting for you….🤣

Meet some of the locals we have met so far this year touring. A big thank you to some amazing photographers who have joined me this year for sharing there gorgeous photos.

I still have plenty of miles to travel before I put my feet up 2 Simpson crossings and then to finish the year a fabulous trip down into the Victorian high Country, so plenty more opportunities to come across more wildlife 🤔 maybe even an Alpine Dingo now that would be a treat!

There is something beautiful about coming across a caravan of Camels
I know they are introduced and should not be majestically walking on the Anne Beadell Highway but what a gorgeous family group.
