What a great shout out for the Nimmitabel Pub 👏

Adventure moto pub of the week! The Federal Hotel Nimmitabel looks like it would have some stories to tell and apparently the barman will recite poetry for you! I rode past once and regret not going in. Cheap rooms and good food available too! ...and in Southern NSW so yeah, great riding aplenty around here.

The grand entrance to Burnima Homestead here at Historic Burnima Estate ✨

We’ve had quite a few enquiries about tours of the homestead, and while we truly believe this beautiful old place is something very special, Burnima Homestead is now our family home. For this reason, unfortunately, we won’t be offering tours inside the homestead.

However, we absolutely encourage our guests staying at Burnima Cottage to enjoy the beautiful grounds and admire the historic outbuildings from the outside. Pack a picnic and relax on the lawns, or sit and soak up the atmosphere on the grand homestead verandah — we love sharing the beauty and history of this special place with our guests in this way. 🌿🏡

Thank you so much for your understanding and for your love of Historic Burnima Estate.

We however do plan to have events in the grounds in the way of open gardens in the future so please follow our socials as this will be the first point of advertising such events.

Kind regards,
Laura & Matty 🤍

UPDATE: 8:30AM

The Monaro Highway has reopened with a reduced speed limit in a section north of Nimmitabel.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal two-vehicle crash that closed the highway for more than 12 hours yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway north of Nimmitabel at around 3 PM after reports a car and a truck had collided, causing a large fire.

The driver of the car died at the scene and the driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries before being taken to hospital.
