Getting that first payment online feels good - and the lead up to doing it can get a bit technical and confusing. I put together a blog on how to setup your website to start receiving payments online - and clear up some confusion on SSL certificates (do you need to pay for an SSL certificate or get a free one) - and take you through the steps that trip up and confuse most people.

I’m very excited to be writing this blog post because it deals with one of the most important – top line activities for any business operating online – getting paid. If you’re not getting paid, and staying in the black – or at least looking to do so – you may as well pack up …

Visual Composer vs Elementor (and why Elemenotr wins). Really recommend this article if you are looking to create additional content for SEO purposes and need to know the unique challenges of doing it with Visual Composer vs Elementor.

For the past 3 months I have been eagerly studying Elementor – the new page builder for WordPress (well not technically new – it has been around for over a year – but it’s the newest WordPress page builder plugin – and in my opinion the best). As I was using the page builder it …

If you have a website and are not getting that much traffic – – I wanted to show you how you can see every time a Googler (google user/your potential future customer) sees your site in search results. This will be in reference to a client I’ve recently been working with – they were not …

About 5 years ago I was in a bookshop - looking over one of these popular ‘SEO’ books you’re sure to find. It was written by some author that worked with Fortune 500 companies - after reading the book I was just as confused as before I had started.

The top SEO Experts in the mainstream hold back a lot of stuff in the advice they give - there’s a reason why they do this (hint: it’s not because they’re bad people).

I wrote a blog about how the mainstream SEO industry operates - and I also delve into what they can’t really share with you (at the end of the blog).

There was a book that I was reading – I don’t remember the name of the book exactly – but I had found it in a popular bookstore in Sydney (Kimonodo bookshop on George Street). The book was an SEO book – and was actually through its fourth or seventh edition. It was a very …

Just launched my first Facebook campaign with a guesthouse up here in Murwullimbah and...

If you are interested in:
* Just how much data Facebook really collects about its users - and how I was able to use that data to hyper-target my client’s audience
* Understanding the difference between PageView and ViewContent events on Facebook (and how to see exactly what your users are doing on your site using Facebook’s amazingly detailed analytics tool)
* How to make an engaging video that gets people stopping and viewing your Facebook ad - for only $41!

All of this stuff is in the blog I just wrote - learn more by clicking the link below:

In this article I want to talk about what you’ll need to know before you promote a guest house (or any type of accommodation on Facebook). So let’s get straight into it. Cultivate a Liking Economy If you are a guest house you want to ensure people like your page – and there is a …

Recently (well actually about a year ago) - a Wordpress Plugin called Elementor launched. It’s on to Version 2 at the moment and it’s totally revolutionised how pages are edited - and I suspect it’s going to make it much easier for my clients to edit pages.

You can check out the blog below where I show an example of a landing page I had created using Elementor (just playing around a little bit with it, don’t expect too much) and show some backend stuff using Enfold:

Recently I’ve been playing around with a new plugin for WordPress called Elementor. If you haven’t heard of this plugin it’s basically the newest, freshest way to edit your website in WordPress – and in order to understand why it’s becoming such a big deal you’ll need tou understand firs...

Hey there,

I’ve recently been working for a Guesthouse out here in Murwullimbah launching a Facebook campaign. I made a teeny mistake by not split testing the first campaign I launched - but now that I am I see how powerful it is.

Imagine being able to not only launch an ad but then see which demographic is engaging the most (to then be able to advertise to just that highly-engaged demographic) - you can keep drilling like this through split test (whether at the demographic or the ad creative level).

It’s a great bit of market research even if the results aren’t the best (since you’re going to have to make the mistake anyway).

I’ve written a blog about it below:

Recently I launched an ad and I made a mistake – I didn’t actually do a split test of the campaign before I launched. I created a cool video (which by the way – looking back was not the best option in hindsight as my goal was conversion and videos drive more awareness and engagement …

Getting to page #1 for 'wordpress developer sydney' took some work - I got obsessed with my site's SEO for a while. I used to advertise on Gumtree and I have to say - the clients that come through from Google are way better than the Gumtree enquiries. In this blog I break down the #1 thing that put me from page #8 to page #1.

Recently I’ve been making a bunch of calls to a number of companies in the waterproofing niche and it always astounds me how big companies with impressive websites can still get SEO fundamentals so wrong. Not only are businesses breaking SEO rules that would literally take 30 minutes to fix – if...

I've come across two instances of sites where a developer did something smart in theory (create a staging site) but which killed a client's SEO rankings. In this blog post I talk about this whole concept of many people's ranking being bad due to stepping on their own foot rather than their competitors being more proficient. It's almost like SEO is about not making mistakes as much as it is optimising your site. Chrs - K

The idea that search engine marketers are people who have figured out some secret sauce is only half true. Read on to see how getting out of your own way is sometimes more than 50% of the challenge.

Seen those commercials on TV? I've been using GoDaddy for over 3-4 years now for mine and my client's hosting. Recently though I've made a switch - as great as GoDaddy is in some areas (phone support) there is ONE number that I couldn't get past - and it meant the difference between good rankings and bad. Read about it by clicking the link below. Peace - K

Firstly – this is not a diss at GoDaddy – which is a great hosting company in many ways. However I wanted to talk about why I moved mine (and my client’s sites off GoDaddy) recently and give a bit more of an insight to you if you are considering GoDaddy (and have seen the …
