INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKERS
It was a pleasure to listen to the presentations by Chloe Bauer of Bird's Fish Bar at Bowen Fishermans Seafood Co, Amanda Brockbank of Meraki Whitsundays and Lily Blain of Fiorella Florals
at the Bowen Chamber of Commerce Inc. meeting this week.
The three business owners gave emotional speeches giving real insights into running a small business. Well done ladies! Thank you to the chamber for organising this “Women in Business” event. The three guest speakers are pictured with Alex Pyke and Jo Shepherd from the Bowen Chamber and Mayor Ry Collins - Whitsunday Regional Council.

HISTORICAL CONNECTION!
It was lovely meeting these visitors last week with a significant historical connection to Bowen. Our manager Leanne is pictured with Dianne, Colin and Cameron – three Great Great Grandchildren of GF Sandrock – the man credited with bringing the first Kensington Pride mango seed to Bowen from India in the late 1800s. Their grandfather was George Kent (the grandson of Mr Sandrock) who was a pioneering tomato farmer in the region, known as the “Tomato King” after establishing a tomato farm at “Woodlands” in about 1903. Thanks so much for calling in – it was lovely to chat to you about your family’s connections to Bowen.
