You don’t need to know your googly from your silly mid-on to stay at No. 52 Bowral.

👑 A King, a cricketer… and a duck 🏏🦆

Did you know Sir Donald Bradman once dined with King George VI at Buckingham Palace?

During Australia’s famous 1948 tour of England, Bradman was invited to dine with the King, who reportedly told him:

“I hope you get a hundred at The Oval.”

Unfortunately, cricket had other plans…

In his final Test innings, Bradman needed just four runs to finish his Test career with the seemingly impossible batting average of exactly 100.

Instead, he was bowled for a duck 🦆

His final average?

99.94.

A number that would become one of the most famous in sporting history.

It’s quite extraordinary to think that the little boy who practised for hours with a cricket stump and golf ball against a water tank in Bowral would grow up to captain Australia, dine with a King and become one of the greatest sportsmen the world has ever known 👑🏏

And there is so much more to his remarkable story.

Did you know that good dogs under 15kg are welcome at No. 52 Bowral? 🐾

Now… not the big kids at the back 😂 They’d cause quite the stir wandering through the front door.

But small to medium-sized, well-behaved dogs are very welcome to join you for your stay - because holidays are always better when your best mate comes too 🐶

Dog stays are on application, with dogs under 15kg considered.

Because at No. 52, we know sometimes the four-legged members of the family deserve a little Bowral getaway to 🩷

There’s staying in Bowral… and then there’s staying somewhere with a story 🤍

At 135 years old, No. 52 has seen a lot of life.

Families have grown here.
Stories have been told here.
And, of course, one rather extraordinary little boy once called her home.

Today, she begins another chapter every time we hand over the keys.

Guests light the fire, curl up in the library, pour a glass of w**e, wander through rooms filled with history and beautiful things… and, inevitably, have a go at the water tank challenge 🏏

Some come because of Sir Donald Bradman.

Some simply fall in love with the house.

And we think that’s exactly as it should be 🤍

Not a museum.
Not just accommodation.

A beautiful old home with a rather wonderful story to tell.
