I always get asked about gang hooks and how to open hooks.

Softer hooks like Mustads can open quite easily with side cutters for heavy wire which is fine for fishing pillies for tailor or mackerel species.

These hooks are high carbon steel, tempered for hardness then tin coated for anti rust so they demand careful respect and even pressure to gently squeeze the eyes open just enough to fit the swivel through.
Since swapping to my own supply direct from the distributor I’ve not had any reports of failed hooks unlike the cheaper hooks I was distributing on behalf of another brand 🫣

This is a modified bench crimper, it’s not a cheap piece of kit and is capable of handing out extreme pressure if it’s not set correctly.
I’m lucky enough to have a guy who can maintain my opening pins and replace when necessary to keep the ganging process a breeze 😍

I’d like to introduce our son, Aurran to the world of Suncoast Skutes 😍. He joined us on the 14th and so far has been doing a great job of keeping us on our toes and halting all productivity and general functioning day to day but it’s been great non the less.

So firstly a massive thanks to everyone who stopped by to grab the code for the 50% off (which is still valid till the end of the month)

While it’s been a tough decision to drop all my current stock over the Winter, it’s nothing that can’t be replaced so it may as well be in use and funding my paternity leave for a few weeks.

Secondly I’d like to thank everyone who’s taken the time to get in touch for direct sales of bundles to keep me ticking over when time allows and for the patience and trust with the process.
