CENSUS

It has been enjoyable hosting the census crew at Burru Waranha these past few weeks and will be sad to see them leave.
And to the local workers that worked hard, I'd like to congratulate them for all they have done!

GREAT WEEK!!!!

It has been a very busy week for Burru Waranha with doing a tour with the NASCA girls from Delroy High School and Coonamble High School doing a tour to the Old Mission and an art workshop with me.
It was the second visit from the adorable students at Brewarrina Central School. The year one and two class with Ms Skuthorpe and teacher’s aids will be coming to the shop every Friday over the next term to learn about art.
Census has also been operating out of the shop for the past two weeks and will be here until the end of the month.

Water Entitlements Program

The Murray–Darling Basin Aboriginal Water Entitlements Program (AWEP) is an Australian Government initiative allocating $100 million to purchase water entitlements for Basin First Nations Peoples. The program aims to ensure water is held, managed, and governed to provide lasting community benefits. Efforts are underway to establish a permanent, independent, First Nations–led Charitable Trust to hold and manage these entitlements, with decisions guided by cultural values and community priorities. This process emphasizes direct First Nations involvement in shaping water ownership and governance for the future. For more information click the link below:
