Sky Gypsies

Sky Gypsies Bright, beautiful, natural handcrafted items from Nepal. Sky Gypsies

We’re Lucy & David …… flyers, travellers, traders…..

We met one summer at a paragliding takeoff in the French Alps, flew together and dreamt of a life where we could follow our passions and live the lives we really wanted. Ten years later and our lives are, literally, half a world away from there. There have been many adventures, 2 babies and a fledgling business to bring us to our today. We’re melding our passions and priorities to bring you produc

ts you’ll love, that we are proud to sell, which we source in countries we love to visit…… from artisans forging their own paths, keeping traditional crafts alive, trading on their terms. We believe small things can make a big difference…

The colours in a hand-woven cloth, the cut of a bag…
The appreciation of the care and energy that went into their creation
The small order for a supplier that turns into a bigger one. Shared laughter over a cup of tea (In Nepal, India, Australia, anywhere anyone drinks tea)
Noticing the sunlight in the trees. Sky Gypsies is our company – we want you to soar free, to go where the wind takes you, follow your own path. We hope our products will continue their journey with you and brighten your adventures.

My new wood fire got installed just in the nick of time before all the rain this week. Super happy with it… cute and cosy. I made the tiled hearth underneath too which I love.
Also loving all the new colours of merino beanies that have come in. As soft and squishy as ever and all hand knit. These will be coming with me to this Saturday and Rutherglen Winery Walkabouts on Sunday. Looks like the ☀️ is forecast to shine too, phew!

I always love getting all the wool out. All the texture and colours, not to mention pretty cosy once the sun goes down.

Colourful and cosy, our new boxy jackets are an easy addition to your wardrobe. It’s autumn so everyone talks about layering which makes me not want to but it is what they are good for so I will 😀 also for just generally brightening up your day and your outfit.

We’ll it seems like we are bounding towards Easter… just over 3 weeks away. If you fancy adding these cute bunnies to your celebrations they’re hopping about on the website with a few other bunny themed goodies.
You probably won’t succeed in making them an alternative to chocolate, they are Easter Bunnies after all, but maybe a nice addition?!

It’s been a while but I’m still here and back to markets this weekend. Find me in Mount Beauty tomorrow morning. This gorgeous market is under the trees, next to the pool and with so many lovely stalls. One of my favs.
I’ve been moving house, hot work , I though I might have heat exhaustion a few times on those 45 degree days.
I’ve absolutely loved where I’ve lived in Bright the last five years but I’m feeling excited for something new, it feels right, and I’m only up the road in Wandi, amongst the trees. Close but my days will look different.
I’m busy organising and rearranging everything, and still got the big clean up do at my old house so doing a market will feel like a nice bit of normal.
Come say hi. I’ve got lots of these loose pants (which I’ve been living in) and light summer dresses.

It’s that wonderful time between Christmas and New Year when the living is easy. Time to read the books, eat the left overs, go for a swim and hang out with your family and friends.
A Tina Romper is made for this kind of life. More relaxed than a dress but still cute, easy to pull on over your cosi as you head out to the water and keep on all day.
Catch you down at the river. X
