Delectable Tours prides itself on supporting wonderful venues that source their produce locally and highlight the local cuisine. We put the ground work in to make sure we’re taking you to venues that not only have a strong reputation for excellent food and service, but that our experience with them has also lived up to their reputation. In our endeavour to highlight some of the best restaurants the city has to offer, we feel that one isn’t necessarily the best reputation for the numerous options available to meet your tastes, budget and other dining desires. As a result, Delectable Tours specialises in providing progressive dining and tapas experiences so that you can get a better taste for what the city has to offer from a couple of great dining destinations. Unlike standard food tours, each dish you will enjoy on a Delectable Tour is picked specifically for your group to cater to your tastes and will be matched with the beverage style of your choice. Delectable Tours offer private dining for all tours so that you and your group can better share in conversation and share something a little more special than regular restaurant dining. It also means that there is no waiting for tables and provides a higher level of dedicated service that offers you further privacy and comfort. Our experiences allow you to stipulate your budget so that we can offer the best food and beverages in line with your desired price point. All of Delectable Tours include private transportation to take you from door to door so you don’t have to worry about where you’re going, how you’re going to get there, let alone parking or worrying about having a designated driver. Instead, we will be your designated driver and host, offering you further insight into the city’s food culture and share our love and knowledge of food, w**e and spirits with you.

World Tourism Day, and worth pointing three hours west of Brisbane to Stanthorpe. Gold at Australia's Top Tourism Town Awards last week, and a reminder that the best of Queensland's food story lives well past the coast.

Granite Belt w**e, cool-climate produce, orchards that behave like it's actually winter in July. Worth the drive.

If we've been a little quiet here lately, this is why...

It hasn't been an easy choice, but the time has come to close this chapter and turn toward what's next.

For a decade, it has been our absolute privilege to share Brisbane's food scene with you, to introduce guests to the local produce, the tucked-away venues, and the stories behind the food that make this city so special. Brisbane isn't always the first place people think of when they think of great food, but every single one of you who walked these streets with us knows just how much this city has to offer.

None of it would have been possible without the extraordinary venues, producers and people who stood behind us the whole way. To every chef who plated something memorable, every venue who welcomed our guests like their own, every local producer whose passion made the food what it was, and every host who helped bring these evenings to life, thank you. You are the real heart of these tours, and we have been so lucky to walk alongside you.

Our final tours are now fully booked, and we'll be running them through to the end of October. We'll share a proper farewell once our very last group has been out with us, but for now, thank you. Thank you for every booking, every shared table, and every kind word over these ten years. It has meant more than we can say.

Spirit House in Yandina has been drawing people up into the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for years, and a banquet here explains exactly why. Set in tropical gardens with the dishes arriving course after course, it is the kind of meal that rewards a slow afternoon and a full table. Yandina might be a small town, but this is a genuinely serious kitchen, and it belongs on the list for anyone exploring beyond the coast itself.

Rise Bakery makes one of the crispest croissants in Brisbane, and it is worth the trip on its own. 🥐

The layers shatter on the first cut, the inside stays soft, buttery and impossibly light, and the whole thing pairs perfectly with a strong coffee on a cooler morning. It is a small, simple pleasure, but it is these details, the bakeries that get the fundamentals right, the cafes that treat a croissant as seriously as a main course, the corners of the city doing quietly excellent work, that make Brisbane's food scene worth exploring properly.

This box of handmade truffles from 31 Degrees Custom Chocolates in Woolloongabba is a genuinely different way to taste a delicious combination of flavours. Made by hand, in small batches, using French and Swiss couverture, each chocolate leans into signature flavours, seasonal delights and even the tropical and subtropical fruit the region grows so well. It is proof that Brisbane's produce belongs in fine chocolate as much as it belongs on a plate.

A guided amaro tasting with Andre at before + after on a recent Saturday.

Amaro Montenegro, Amaro Camatti, Amaro Meletti. Three bottles, three regions, three completely different reads on what a bitter Italian digestif is meant to do. Andre walked us through each one properly, the history, the botanicals, the reason each one exists.

The kind of tasting that reminds you why sitting at a bar with someone who knows the shelf is a genuine skill, and worth an hour of anyone's evening.

The Gresham Bar sits in the lane that once held Brisbane's grandest hotel, 77 rooms, among the first buildings in the city connected to electricity, the site where Qantas was formally established in 1920. The hotel didn't survive the 1974 floods. The lane did, and so did the name.

It isn't a wh***ey bar, a cocktail bar, or a w**e bar exactly, it's the best parts of all three, which is presumably why Gourmet Traveller called it Australia's Bar of the Year back in 2015. This visit ran a Solid Gold, a Sunny Boy, and an El Paso, three completely different directions off the one short menu.

Worth finding your own three.
