Most people plan a lap around the map… when really, you should be planning it around the seasons ☀️
Australia is absolutely massive, and getting the timing right can completely change the trip 🇦🇺
JAN - VIC / Melbourne ☀️
Peak summer, long days and the perfect time for the Great Ocean Road & Wilsons Prom 🚐
FEB - NSW East Coast 🏖️
Warm ocean, proper beach weather and summer still hanging around as you head north 🌊
MAR - Brisbane / Sunshine Coast 🌴
Still hot enough for beach days, but you’re starting to leave the peak summer crowds behind 😎
APR - Cairns / North QLD 🌿
The wet season starts easing, waterfalls are pumping and the rainforest is ridiculously green 💦
MAY - Cape York / Outback QLD 🚙
Dry season kicks in, roads start opening up and the brutal summer heat backs off 🙌🏼
JUN - NT / Red Centre 🏜️
Clear skies, cooler days and MUCH nicer temperatures for exploring the Outback 🔥
JUL - Broome / Kimberley 🌅
Right in the dry season, meaning warm sunny days without the humidity and monsoonal rain ☀️
AUG - Exmouth / Coral Bay 🐋
Beautiful weather, unreal Ningaloo Reef conditions and right in whale shark season 🐠
SEP - Perth / Southwest WA 🌸
Spring arrives, wildflowers come out and the Southwest starts warming back up 🌼
OCT - Nullarbor / Eyre Peninsula 🚐
Milder temperatures make the massive crossing a whole lot nicer before summer properly hits ☀️
NOV - SA / Great Ocean Road 🌊
Longer, warmer days without quite hitting the madness of peak summer yet 😍
DEC - Tasmania ⛰️
While mainland Australia heats up, Tassie comes into its prime with long summer days 🌞
Obviously Australian weather does whatever it wants sometimes, but this route gives you a pretty bloody good shot at chasing the good stuff all year 😂
