🦪 Leucate – Fresh Oysters Straight From the Boat ✨
Next stop: Leucate, and this one was an absolute treat. We pulled up to the little oyster huts by the water and had fresh oysters for lunch, literally straight out of the boat. You can’t get more “sea‑to‑plate” than that.
The whole place has this relaxed, seaside charm: boats bobbing in the harbour, locals shucking oysters right in front of you, and that salty breeze that tells you the seafood is going to be amazing. And it was... fresh, briny, cold, and perfect. One of those simple meals that ends up being a highlight.

Next stop: Les Machines de Toulouse, and this one was such a blast. We’d been to Les Machines de Nantes years ago and absolutely loved the giant elephant, so we were curious to see how Toulouse would compare… and honestly, it was pretty incredible in its own way.
The machines here feel like stepping into a giant engineer’s sketchbook... whimsical, clever, and full of movement. And the best part?
We even got to ride Le Minotaure, this enormous mechanical bull‑creature that moves with so much power and personality. Sitting on it as it came to life was surreal, the kids were buzzing, we were laughing, and it felt like being inside a living piece of art.

We took our time wandering through the steep lanes, climbing the steps at our own pace, and soaking in the views that make Rocamadour one of the most unforgettable places in France. 🌊 Les Gorges du Verdon – Fun, Sun… and an Unexpected Plot Twist ✨
Next stop: the stunning Gorges du Verdon, one of the most beautiful natural wonders in France. The turquoise water, the cliffs, the sunshine, it was pure magic. We hired a little pedal boat, laughed the whole way, and soaked in the views… until the universe decided to spice things up.
Somehow.... who knew this was even possible... I managed to tear my calf muscle on a pedal boat. Yes, a pedal boat. Of all things. Our big Italy plan got cut short right there. One minute we were cruising along the gorge, the next minute I was discovering that pedal boats are apparently an extreme sport 🤣

Next stop: the breathtaking hilltop village of Gordes, and honestly… it deserves every bit of its reputation. Perched above the Provençal countryside, with stone houses glowing in the sun, it feels like stepping into a painting.
We wandered through the narrow cobbled streets, admired the view over the valley, and soaked in that golden light Gordes is famous for. And they have..… cat photos everywhere 🐈🐈‍⬛️😻
🐈Why are there cat photos all over the village?
