We always love visiting Australia's Pearling Pioneers on our Flock Wildlife Photo Tours Broome & Beyond tour but this year was extra special!
There were almost 100 Gouldians Finches flying around the campground near our accommodation coming into a bird bath. Epic!

Little Heron
Back from our Broome & Beyond tour but off to Cairns on Thursday, so I’ll make a longer post tour post later. For now here is a quick post until I have time to start going through all the images and video I took while away!

Striated Pardalotes busting out the moves on our Flock Wildlife Wild Capertee tour a couple of weeks ago.
Swipe to see the female doing her best to sidestep the attention of an enthusiastic suitor!
We’ve been fortunate to be able to visit a private property the last few years where these guys nest under the their house. At one stage there were more than 10 Pardalotes in a tree together!

Great way to finish our tour on Friday having this stunner come to drink on a private property in the Capertee Valley. Definitely one of my favourite finch species and it only came in for a quick drink and was off!

Golden Pheasant.
Seriously, these birds are just ridiculous. I mean who thought up those colours and hairstyle?
Can’t wait to be back in China next April for our China Pheasants and Red Panda tour!
Still a couple of spots left if you want to see these actual birds yourself ❤️💛🧡🩵💙

Well it’s been a while since I posted here mostly because I keep forgetting that the posts I share from my David Stowe Photography Instagram account do post here as well - only to the Flock Instagram page! 😂
So I’ll try to do better!

Great Egrets
A bit of a high key edit from our Channel Country tour back in May taken amidst the chaos of action at the old Diamantina River Crossing near Birdsville .
It was incredible seeing so many birds in one place

Super proud of our regular Flock guest Leanne Aust for being awarded in the Ted’s cameras Photographer of the Year competition!
Her amazing portfolio was captured on our Pheasants of Sichuan tour earlier this year.
How epic is that Chinese Monal image! 🤯😍

“Spent an excellent morning with Dave working out how to optimise settings for my new camera and to get far greater control over my bird photography. He explained the why and how really clearly and responded to all my questions, no matter how unclear I was! There were heaps of great tips and tricks and I feel far more confident to get the most out of fully manual settings and take on birds in flight and changing light. Highly recommended.“

Broome & Beyond tour 2025!
Finally getting some time to cull/edit/post some more shots from another awesome trip to one of our favourite places in Australia!
Huge thanks to the awesome crew at for all their hosting, facilitating, driving, cooking, laughs and experience! Thanks Sebastian, Jamie and Dave, Mark and Carey.
Such a lovely group of guests too, traveling from Sydney, Launceston, Canberra and Belgium!
We’re thinking of changing things up for 2026 and going to August, so if you’re interested get in touch!

Talk to the hand.
Fun private tour on the weekend searching for mammals for an English guest!
Eastern Grey Kangaroos were the stars but we also photographed Wallaroo, Red-necked and Swamp Wallaby, Brush-tailed Possum, Echidna and Wombat!
A big but productive day!
