I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all those who voted for or preferenced me in the Broome Shire election. Your support has granted me the privilege of continuing to represent you for the next four years. I am deeply mindful of the responsibility that comes with this honour. I also wish to extend my congratulations to Desiree Male, Phil Matsumoto and Sean Cooper, who have been re-elected for four-year terms. The positivity of this election campaign has been truly remarkable, with candidates united in their commitment to making Broome a better place. Special recognition is due to Gary Smith, who has worked tirelessly to highlight the need for aged care housing in Broome. Although he was not elected, Gary has undoubtedly made a lasting impact on this issue. Thank you to all, Peter.

Don't forget to vote! This is the last week to vote in the Broome Shire Elections. You can vote at the Shire Administration Office on Weld Street, Monday through Friday, between 9am and 4pm.
Saturday, 18 October, between 8 am and 6 pm, is your last chance!

Understanding Local Government Elections - Optional Preferential Voting.

Voting is a civic duty, but not compulsory!
During the 2023 Shire elections, only 1,841 voters out of a total of 8,987 potential voters cast a vote. That's just 20.48%. Not everyone will vote for a better Broome. WILL YOU?
