Our winter trip to Kangaroo Island was stormy, beautiful and full of wildlife! It was a bumpy crossing on the ferry - out one side of the ferry the sky was dark and stormy - out the other it was blue sky and sunny. Our reward was to see a whale!

On a Winter trip to Kangaroo Island, we always suggest a stop at Pennington Bay, on your drive from the ferry to Island Chalet. It is a beautiful introduction to Kangaroo Island! Hooded Plovers nest on the sand and you can see them running to the water's edge and back (dogs on leash!)
