Meeting the new faces of adventure at Mann River Caravan Park! 🌲🍔

We had the pleasure of catching up with the new park managers, Buddha and Bec. It’s always an immediate bond when you cross paths with a fellow raft guide - there is nothing quite like river family! 🚣‍♂️🌊

When our Exodus Adventures whitewater guides get off the river at the end of our multi-day trips, our absolute favourite tradition is to refuel with a burger, chips, and a cold drink, topped off with Mann River's famous ice cream. 🍟🍦

We love supporting local, so if you are heading out to Jackadgery, make sure you swing by and grab a feed while you're there. They are bringing fantastic energy to an already incredible spot, making it a great place to stay overnight or to holiday! ☀️🏕️

🚌✨ History, Heritage & Memories: Action Coaches and Exodus Adventures Team Up on the Old Glen Innes Road! 🪨🍂

We were absolutely thrilled to partner with our good friends at Action Coaches to host a very special group of regular senior travellers for a history and heritage tour along the spectacular Old Glen Innes Road!

Telling the history of our area is what we love, and bringing back memories for those who know it best is exactly why we do it. Our very own Dingo was the tour guide for the day, leading the group through the incredible local landscape. The visit held a deeply personal connection for us here at Exodus Adventures, as the beautiful riverside property we operate on was originally purchased from Warren Adams. His twin sister, Shirley Regan (born Adams), travelled with the group and spoke beautifully about her childhood and life growing up at Buccarumbi, sharing priceless insights into her local history.

Since a couple of the other travellers also grew up in the area, it was the perfect opportunity for everyone to swap stories with Dingo, reminisce about old times, and share their precious memories right here by the water.

Here is a look at what made this nostalgic day out so special:

🪨 Township of Buccarumbi: The group loved exploring the historic grounds where the old town once bustled by the river.
⛏️ The Hand-Cut Rock Tunnel: Walking and driving right through this incredible 20-metre landmark, carved completely by hand out of solid rock by 1800s civilian labour.
🏚️ Dalmorton Ghost Town: Taking a walk through the atmospheric remnants of the old gold rush town to reflect on early pioneer life.
🛶 Adams Crossing: Visiting this landmark right here on our private property, where early pioneers famously crossed the Nymboida River on a rope-secured punt before the bridge was built.
🗺️ The Forgotten Pioneer Trails: Stopping at many other incredible historical landmarks along the way, uncovering the rich regional history scattered across the landscape.
🥩 Morning Tea & BBQ Lunch: Welcoming all 26 guests onto our gorgeous property for a lovely morning tea and a healthy and hearty BBQ lunch while the storytelling continued.

It was an absolute privilege to listen to the history of our home being told by the people who lived it. A huge thank you to Julie and Deb from Action Coaches for coordinating the bus and senior travellers, to Shirley, and to everyone who came along to share their memories with us!

🛶 Last day of paddling today! Tired arms, but absolute smiles all round. 🌊✨

Capturing the raw, unfiltered heart of our epic 5-day Duke of Edinburgh journey on the Nymboida River.

After living, paddling, and camping together, these Year 12 students completely trade exam stress for a profound sense of accomplishment, teamwork, and community.

While the whitewater brings the adrenaline, it’s the quiet flat pools that offer the real magic. These calm stretches give everyone a rare chance to sit still, drift along, and completely soak in the beauty of nature.

By the time the team pulls onto the riverbanks, they are stripped back to a single 60L barrel, only living with the essentials - fully unplugged from technology and connecting with each other.

Standing together by the canoes, muscles are properly tired but spirits are incredibly high as any lingering social barriers just melt away. Overcoming the river’s challenges builds essential life skills, deep mutual support, and lasting resilience, forging bonds that turn a group of classmates into a lifelong river family.

As they finish up their final day on the water today, they are pulling off the river at the Mann River Caravan Park in Jackadgery. There is no better reward after an epic journey than an ice-cold drink and the absolute best ice creams in the region! Supporting local.

All programs run from our private property, right where the Boyd and Nymboida River meet. As the closest whitewater rivers to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, our property features over 6km of private whitewater frontage and secure riverbank camping. The historic Buccarumbi Bridge area is at our front gate, making it the perfect launching pad for Northern NSW, Brisbane, and Gold Coast locals!

🛶 🌊 5 Days. Thrilling rapids. And one ultimate question: In your final year of school, how well do you really know your classmates? 🤔 ✨

On the first day, our Year 12 Gold Duke of Ed crew sorted their barrel packing, smashed their paddling skills, and mastered whitewater safety. They also studied their maps to work out their campsites and distances to paddle each day, before putting their trust, balance, and friendships to the test with this mystery river challenge! Turn the sound up and watch the video below to see if you can guess what they are trying to do. 🛶 ⚖️

To pull this off without taking a plunge, it takes way more than just balance - they had to work out a specific detail about each other without speaking a single word. Balancing Year 12 studies is one thing, but standing in order on a moving river is next level! 💪

🌳🏫 5 DAYS, NO WALLS: WELCOME TO THE ULTIMATE WILDERNESS CLASSROOM!

When you see this fleet lined up at Exodus Adventures, you know something epic is about to go down. 🛶💥

The gear is prepped, the boats are loaded, and the river is calling! A huge welcome to our latest Gold Duke of Ed group swapping their desks for paddles on their Adventurous Journey expedition.

Over an epic 5 days of paddling and camping under the stars, these students are diving into a hands-on crash course in real-world self-sufficiency. Learning to carefully pack and optimise their craft means understanding the fundamentals of expedition planning, camp craft, and how to minimise their impact on the environment through strict leave-no-trace outdoor ethics.

Beyond the physical challenge, this unique youth development program is where they will build lifelong teamwork and communication skills, gain a deep environmental awareness, and develop the grit, problem-solving, and self-reliance that only a wild river can forge.

Our amazing guide team is absolutely pumped to lead the way, share their river knowledge, and support these legends through every rapid. Let the expedition begin! 🛶✨
