Hop aboard the Australian Sugar Cane Railway for a 2km ride through the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens on historic locomotives once used to haul sugar cane around the region.⁠

There’s leafy scenery and local history for the grown-ups, while the littlest passengers are usually just very excited to be on a train 🚂⁠

In honour of , we’re sharing the seriously impressive comeback story of Lady Elliot Island.⁠

After guano mining stripped much of the coral cay’s vegetation in the late 1800s, decades of regeneration, restoration and protection have helped transform it back into a thriving sanctuary above and below the water.⁠

Today, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is home to more than 1,200 species of marine life, manta rays, nesting turtles and one of the Great Barrier Reef’s most diverse seabird populations.⁠
