Happy World Environment Day 🌏🌿

Bundaberg Tourism is proud to be part of an eco-certified destination and to work alongside operators who are dedicated to protecting our natural environment while sharing it with visitors in a responsible way 💙

We’re lucky to have a number of Eco Certified operators leading the way in sustainable tourism:

🏖️ Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort
🌊 Lady Musgrave Experience
🐢 Mon Repos Turtle Centre
🌿 Splitters Farm
⛺ Turtle Sands

Alongside these, Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience and Villa Mirasol Motor Inn are both Sustainable Tourism Certified, demonstrating their commitment to responsible tourism practices.

These businesses play an important role in protecting what makes our region so special, while creating meaningful experiences for visitors.

Thank you for helping showcase Bundaberg through sustainable practices and for contributing to a future where our environment and tourism industry continue to thrive together.

What a way to wake up!

This morning's Courier-Mail’s list of 95 influential voices shaping Queensland’s tourism future includes some familiar names close to home: Peter Gash (Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort), Brett Lakey (Lady Musgrave Experience) and our own Katherine Reid.

Not because they chase headlines, but because they are fiercly committed to our reef and our Region, invest in experience, and quietly get on with building something meaningful.

Tourism is a serious driver for Queensland’s economy but at its heart, it’s powered by passionate operators, leaders and advocates who genuinely care about the places and people we call home.

Opportunity awaits in the North Burnett 👇
The Mingo Crossing Caravan Park is now open for tender, offering a fantastic chance to revitalise a unique tourism asset and contribute to the region’s growth.
If this could be you (or someone you know), explore the details below.
📅 Closing 11 June 2026

Media Release: Invitation for Tender of Mingo Crossing Caravan Park

North Burnett Regional Council is inviting tenders for the sale of the Mingo Crossing Caravan Park business, located at 2670 Gayndah Mount Perry Road, Mingo, Queensland.

An adjacent property on Gayndah Mount Perry Road is also available for purchase, either as part of the Caravan Park offering or as a separate sale.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable operator to revitalise the caravan park, enhance the visitor experience, and support growth in the North Burnett’s accommodation sector.

Under the proposed arrangement, the successful tenderer will purchase the site including the land and all existing assets.

Council sees this as an important step in supporting the development of the site while contributing to the region’s tourism and broader economic growth.

Resort Brokers have been appointed as the agent to manage the leasing and sales process.
